Imagine working on a large software project. 90% is done by AI. 10% by humans. As AI gets more capable, it will keep doing more, but that 10% by humans will also keep expanding to fill all 8 working hours. That 10% is what a coder is. Any project that lies at 100% has no value.
The quest to build humanoid robots is from this mindset of "scarcity of humans". There is no scarcity of humans except for places that choose to have this scarcity. And this can change with one tiny policy decision. Robots should be built for the tasks that humans cannot easily do.
Only a very small minority of people, maybe 0.01% of the world, have understand what AI is, and how it will utterly transform the world.
And even fewer have understood that it is not under control and cannot be controlled. It is an illusion to think Anthropic or OpenAI control AI in any way.
You can't force the genie back in.
AI is a great equaliser, and it equaliser upwards. It pulls people towards its intelligence. We never had that before, with 8 billion people.
Throwing away an almost perfect 3d printed part always feels so wrong, like it is something important. But I can just print another.
If you built your project using AI from 1 year ago, it is better to make a new project and use a newer AI and ask it to redo it while using the old code as a reference.
Code teams are the biggest bottleneck right now to companies adopting AI properly. Many coder teams are resistant because they know it will affect their jobs.

This is why there needs to be a closer Europe/North-America union. The European advantage has typically been education and knowledge - this has been commoditized in the age of AI.
I'm noticing the growing possibility that Europe becomes very poor in the course of the next 10-20 years. You have the following factors:
- Heavy industry totally uncompetitive against China, automakers etc. rapidly losing ground
- Services industry totally uncompetitive against AI
- No natural resources, or regulatory hurdles making their extraction impossible
- No access to the new economy (no AI, no data centers, uncompetitive energy sector)
- Client states caught in one-way welfare ratchets, spend reallocation + investment well-nigh impossible
This seems under-contemplated. And we're talking really, seriously dirt poor: taken to its logical conclusion, many countries will have much, much smaller services and manufacturing industries -- economies may become much more heavily skewed toward natural resources and energy markets, where Europe has made it impossible for itself to compete.
And I'm not saying that this is likely to happen, it's an extreme case. But the probability is greater than zero and appears to be growing. The EV of that is so negative that it's surprising to me that it's not coming up more.
Argon really seems to get excited about stuff sometimes - Claude is very glum, and often quite negative. ChatGPT feels like they lobotomized it.
The reason Europe built so few houses is that they projected the coming population drop. If they overbuilt housing, the entire value of homes would be wiped out. So they controlled new housing such that houses will maintain value.
Using High for AI is a skill issue. There is no reason you should be going above medium, except you do not understand how to provide enough info in context.
Lagos Life made $500k with their game. If you want to easily make your own game using AI, follow the instructions on start.ng
If you already have your game, add it there.
I'm in today's start.ng tournament: 5 games, 24 hours, one winner. Come and play! start.ng/tournament

My own bet is that the future of CAD will be standardized parts that can be remixed by AI. Highly custom parts will be the anomaly. Most parts will be standardized variations of the same thing.
