"Jensen Huang said this week that demand for the neoclouds is off the charts, and in the same breath conceded that capital for those same neoclouds is scarce. Nvidia sells into that demand at margins around 85%. Its customers have spent their cash, set aside buybacks, and are now issuing paper to stay in the race.
Which raises a question nobody put to him. If demand really is unlimited and still growing, why does the hardware need to command record margins?
Both things cannot comfortably be true for long. Either demand is strong enough that the supplier can price at will and the buyers can afford it, or the buyers are stretched and the pricing is what is stretching them."

Elon Musk says the AI boom will hit a WALL by the end of 2026.
He says the whole industry is about to learn a hard lesson in hardware.
Chip output is exploding, but electricity is nearly flat everywhere outside China.
So the two lines cross this year.
He says by the end of the year, we will be making more AI chips than we can actually turn on.
Millions of them pile up with nowhere to plug in.
In his words, the bottleneck for the next year is not chips, it is raw power.
Whoever can turn on the most chips fastest wins the race.
In the end, the AI race comes down to one thing:
Raw electricity.
— Elon Musk (.@elonmusk) on Dwarkesh Patel's (.@dwarkesh_sp) podcast
Elon Musk says billion dollar AI companies with money to spend can't build power plants fast enough to meet AI's electricity demand.
Every major power project requires approvals and equipment, including:
• Switchgear
• Gas turbines
• Power plant permits
• Electrical transformers
• Utility interconnection studies
• High-voltage transmission lines
• Specialized turbine blades and vanes
If even one component is delayed, the entire project stalls... leaving AI chips without electricity.
Musk says gas turbines are sold out through 2030, with specialized blades and vanes being the biggest bottleneck.
Building more power plants isn't the quick solution AI companies thought it'd be.

Supply caps the boom
For all the forward-looking concern about fate of data centers, reality is already with us: data center project cancellations in 3Q alone were almost larger than entirety of 2025 and 2024 combined

I recommend reading Santoli. It’s a great summary of my Sunday Macro, only about a month behind. It comes out on Tuesday, after my Monday Advisor on SubStack.
Supply Caps the Boom I wrote in May, showed up today.
Peak valuations I wrote in June, showed up in August.
AI narrative shift I wrote in September, showed up last week.
I use AI to keep a running record of every prediction or forecast I make, timestamps included.

Well, that was unexpected.
Kid Rock won over Bill Maher’s audience with an epic monologue about the degradation of the modern-day Democrat Party and how progressive politics are teaching kids to hate America.
The moment the audience heard his final line, they erupted into applause.
ROCK: “A Democrat’s never scared me being in office until just recently when all this crazy stuff has popped up.”
“I think Bill Clinton loves the country. I believed Obama loved our country.”
“Now these whack jobs are coming in here and I’m like, wait a minute… even if they don’t hate the country as a whole they hate a big portion of it, and they’re spewing this.”
“And I believe our teachers have been a big problem, you know indoctrinating these kids for a long time now.”
“We’re starting to see the fruition, they’re starting to raise up, I’m a victim and everything’s bad and America is just a big racist piece of sh*t country.”
“Bad, bad America and we’re not celebrating what makes us great, which all of us being different and being together.”
“Being the greatest country in the world!”
It’s pretty seldom that a Republican gets cheers and applause from a liberal crowd with such an unapologetically patriotic message.
This was a great moment.
