The incident reportedly occurred on October 9, 2026, in the Pinetown area of Durban, South Africa.
According to local reports, the father was pulling out of his driveway with his daughter sitting in the passenger seat while his son stood near the gate.
That鈥檚 when a suspicious vehicle drove past their home and stopped nearby.
Moments later, armed men allegedly approached the family. According to a source cited by local media, one suspect ran toward the son and pointed a firearm at his head, while another reportedly opened fire toward the father鈥檚 vehicle.
But what the suspects apparently didn鈥檛 expect was that the father was armed himself.
Dashcam footage shows the father pulling out his firearm and returning fire through his vehicle鈥檚 window.
During the exchange, the vehicle rolled forward and struck a tree. Meanwhile, his son rushed toward the passenger side and helped his younger sister escape as the gunfire continued.
Local reports allege that three suspected hijackers were killed, with one reportedly located at a nearby clinic.
