Elke Sommer, the German-born actress who starred in several major 1960s films like “The Prize” with Paul Newman and the “Pink Pnther” sequel “A Shot in the Dark” with Peter Seller, has died. She was 85. She died just three months after her husband, Wolf Walther, died of cancer. wp.me/pc8uak-1lI34C

On October 29, 1966, Doctor Who made TV history - the First Doctor, played by William Hartnell, regenerated (or 'renewed' as per the original terminology) into Patrick Troughton. Who of the two is your favourite Doctor?

Not a Doctor Who book, but this issue seems to have come out in 1975. The picture of Lis was taken in May 1973 during filming of The Time Warrior at Peckforton Castle, and appears in the Radio Times 10th Anniversary special from November 1973.

One of my all time favourite tv shows from childhood! The Fantastic Journey had a prime time slot on Friday evenings on BBC1 in 1977 and a repeat showing in 1978 during the Christmas holiday season playing in the morning slot Star Trek had in previous years! Happy memories!!

I am deeply saddened to learn of Walter Koenig’s passing. Although we did not know each other well away from the set, we shared the later seasons of the original Star Trek series and the six films that followed. What I observed, and what so many fans have expressed over the years, was a man who genuinely loved the Star Trek community. At conventions, Walter was rarely content to remain behind a signing table. He preferred to be among the people who had kept Star Trek alive for so many decades. That kind of genuine connection is rare, and it will be remembered by everyone who came into contact with him. My condolences to his family, his friends, and the countless fans whose lives he touched.

Susan Saint James is gone at 80. Sunday nights with McMillan & Wife. Then Kate & Allie, back when TV still made us laugh without lecturing us. She was part of our living rooms for twenty years. Rest easy, Susan. Thanks for the good years.

Susan Saint James, the Emmy-winning actress who starred opposite Rock Hudson in “McMillan & Wife” and Jane Curtin in the CBS sitcom “Kate & Allie,” died Monday at 80 years old after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Saint James’ family described her as someone “generous with her time and energy, which she valued more than money, and instinctively drawn to whoever needed lifting up. She taught her children to pause, be kind and look out for other people. She never met a stranger. Every person she met became the most important person in the room at that moment, from a fellow board member to the clerk at the shoe store, who usually walked away knowing her entire life story.” (via People) variety.com/2026/tv/news/sus…
