I will die on this hill: The government is not the boss of reporters. The "question limit" is a COVID hangover. If politicians don't want reporters repeating questions after the "limit" they imposed to avoid pushback, they should answer them the first time.
Replying to @HappyHourHoward
She's always interrupting and going over her question limit. Rude.

It's been a day and a half since I responded to Environment Canada saying my questions were not answered, and that the requested data was publicly available and not connected to the investigation I followed up again at 4.50pm yesterday asking for a statement on why weather information is being withheld. Nothing.
This is what we’re up against trying to report on the CFB Wainwright tragedy. On October 18, I asked Environment Canada for the original wind-warning bulletins for the region, to make sure I hadn’t missed any and because several had since been archived online. I also asked for the timestamped XML files — or directions on how to access them myself. I wasn’t asking about the fire. I wasn’t asking for anything new. I was trying to retrieve historical weather warnings and records, most of which were already publicly available. This was their response. It took them two full working days to send this.

People would be shocked to know how few people are actually generating the news in this country.
For those wondering “where is the media on this”: Lloydminster’s lone TV station was shuttered. Radio news on a weekend is slim pickings. Nearest major centre is Edmonton at 2 hours away and they are also working on skeleton crews. + time needed to confirm details, etc.

At the conclusion of the 2008 Coen Brothers film Burn After Reading, following the plot's chaotic series of semi-clandestine events, the anonymous C.I.A. superior played by J.K. Simmons asks his underling: "What did we learn?" As editors have spent the past month scrambling to respond to the the revelations of the AI-fabricated opinion columnist known only as "Daniel Robson," the mystery of who or what was behind it may never be known. But whatever it was, the lesson for now is “make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
‘Make sure this doesn’t happen again’: editors work to tighten vetting as experts warn ‘Daniel Robson’ persona won’t be the last AI deception. By @LeftHandStu #cdnpoli hilltimes.com/2026/10/07/mak…
