“Let me die,” American photojournalist Heidi Levine repeats to journalists Jasper Nathaniel as they try to outrun masked Israeli settlers who attacked her on Friday while she covered the olive harvest in the West Bank village of Abu Falah, near Ramallah.
Around 80 settlers attacked Palestinian olive harvesters in the village, AP reported. The Palestinian Red Crescent said it treated six people injured in two attacks in Abu Falah.
Levine, a freelancer for the Washington Post, told the Committee to Protect Journalists that the settlers knocked her down and kicked her for at least 10 minutes, even after she identified herself as an American journalist. They stole her camera, phone and bag. She was eventually taken to a hospital in Ramallah.
"The IDF provided cover, with tear gas and machine guns, while the settlers beat" Levine "nearly to death," Nathaniel wrote, adding that soldiers then shot a Palestinian bystander and aimed their guns at and shoved paramedics trying to treat him. AP photos and circulating videos show Israeli soldiers standing over a wounded Palestinian man after they shot him.
Andrey X, an activist also at the scene, said a Palestinian man "saved our lives from the settler-terrorists who attacked the olive harvesters and journalists” armed only with a slingshot.

WTF is wrong with the Dem leadersip??? They know their base wants to CUT TIES with Israel, so they make the most Zionist @RepMoskowitz the new ranking member for the Middle East? They are tone deaf and so corrupt. Still wedded to AIPAC/Israel. It's sickening.
I’m honored to be named Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa.
At a moment of enormous change across the region, I’ll work to strengthen America’s relationships with Israel and our Gulf allies, expand regional peace, advance American diplomacy, and ensure our foreign policy is grounded in strength, security, and reality. I’m ready to get to work.

"This is the last time you’ll see me. They Brought Me Here to Kill Me." Those are the words Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya told his lawyer after more than 18 months of Israeli detention without charge or trial. Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya dedicated his life to saving children. He should be home with his family. Join the Global Day of Action. Demand that Israel immediately release Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya and all detained Palestinian medical personnel before it’s too late.

My leadership didn’t start in Congress and it hasn’t stopped since.
I fight for Medicare for All, expanding Social Security, and treating utilities as basic human rights.

It is now one year since Dr. Husam Abu Safiya, a pediatrician, neonatal specialist, and hospital director, has been imprisoned under Israel’s so-called Unlawful Combatants Law after being seized from Kamal Adwan Hospital. His lawyers report solitary confinement, abuse, severe weight loss, and denial of medical care.
We’re calling on the American Medical Association to break its silence and use its authority.

Congress is about to approve the largest war budget in human history while millions can’t afford rent, food, or healthcare.
Americans are shouting it loud: Healthcare, NOT warfare. If Congress represents the people, the answer is simple: VOTE NO.

Senator Tim Kaine has introduced a War Powers Resolution to block Trump from going to war in Iran.
While Israel starves Gaza, its unprovoked attacks on Iran risk regional collapse and sabotage diplomatic efforts.
The U.S. must not follow them into another endless war.
Will your senator choose diplomacy or AIPAC’s war machine?
Call them NOW.
No more bombs. No more genocide.
Yes to the Iran deal. Yes to peace.

While Israel bombs Iran using US tax dollars and our government’s support — the people of the U.S. stand against this violence.
We are sorry to the people of Iran and will continue to demand our government stop arming Israel.

The myth that American power upholds human rights lies buried beneath the rubble of Gaza.
My new report for @QuincyInst argues that under the pursuit of U.S. military primacy, weapons sales will always supersede human rights.
