Oooh Hey Tea Lab is a thing! They do desserts (cakes, egg tarts) and also sell loose tea aside from their regular menu. They have recently opened in London too. Absolute must-try tarts (mango sticky rice, original, and coconut and lime). #Shanghai
First-class on Chinese high-speed trains: their most expensive tier is Business, then First, followed by Second class. This is the Xian train station (but standard train stations I'd say). Get to stations an hour early or longer if you go in touristy season. >
Briefly: second class was a bit too snug. Defo for much shorter trips (like 30mins from Shanghai to Suzhou types) but not for inter-city travel (if you want to travel comfortably). And now, the cost: >
> For two pax/one-way, we paid £450 for a 4.5hrs trip on Biz, and £114 on 1st class for 4hrs trip; £45 round-trip on a 35mins journey on 2nd. You can book tickets no more than 2wks ahead and THEY FLY. All bookings were done on Trip.com

Not a day has gone by for the last month where I haven't thought about that line and, increasingly, I see it as a skeleton key to a politics that many people are desperate for
I didn't know much about paper-cutting but we bumped into this stall/shop in Yu Garden bazaar #Shanghai. This man makes paper cut portraits of you or of any photo you give him. >
