i'm not sure what the long term goal for openai is, how much of their compute is going into people just burning through tokens on random shit because they reset the limits every three hours
it's interesting to me that anthropic have not been drawn into the reset wars at all and yet
they have the best model, they pull in more revenue, they attract the best staff, they're crushing enterprise. all of the real value is going to anthropic, this can not be sustainable for openai long term. maybe everone is simply building compute that anthropic will end up using.
basically elon is saying cheap GPUs for $SPCX and $NVDA
(also hard to overlook that he’d say exactly this if this was his plan)
Replying to @chamath
Pretty much.
As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn’t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers.
SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but we’re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue.
That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.

Heard of a top law firm completely cutting off Harvey and all API calls to Claude/OpenAI after they saw what openAI did with navier strokes
Now hosting everything locally with GPUs they own, running Kimi and deepseek
Think you’ll see a lot more of this going forward
I don’t even know what to say anymore

In just the first 48h, Aero has taken the number one or number two spot on most of the chains where it’s live.
Just the start. 🛫
