Some people pre write fics completely then post them on a consistent schedule. I literally wrote an entire 80k word fic in 3 ish months but didnt post till it was finished and fully edited.

The way I come to know is the frequency of the posting along with the length of the fics. Once I found an author on ao3 with COMPLETE with length 60k+ & most 100k+ fics within a few days gaps between them 💀
