Ok #MTBoS I need all of your favorite 3D shapes activities, from surface area to volume, for 7th grade! 🤓 TYIA! #iteachmath #math #mathed #EdChat #mathtwitter
Oooo would love to add this as a reflection after summatives!
Have you tried a student-reflection system like this one? (📸 via T @mrshowell24) #edchat #TeacherTwitter #BeTheOne

“The shift to online school led to struggle for many, and it led young people to act creatively and with ingenuity…Instead of so much focus on learning loss, let’s talk about learning gained.” An refreshing view on the pandemic! #SMU622 edsurge.com/news/2021-10-11-…

I forget a lot while I teach so this would blend so easily into my classroom 🤓 But actually, this is a great way to create open ended questions that require students to think and show understanding! #SMU622

Think-Pair-Share is one of my favorite quick activities in the classroom! This is a great read for reminders on how to implement it in a way that is meaningful to students and their learning. #smu622

If you aren’t using @PearDeck, that’s the first problem. But if you aren’t using their pre-made templates, you’re just missing out. Those templates are definitely my students favorites! (Especially if they include Peary 🍐🤓) #smu622
Getting ready for the week ahead? Consider visiting the Pear Deck Orchard, which is filled with of free, flexible, and ready-to-teach content to supplement your lessons! 🌳🌷 You're sure to find something your students will enjoy. ✨ Explore here: hubs.la/H0-cdm20

Our district added an SEL component last year to our schedule/advisory hour and it made HUGE advances for relationships and classroom culture. #smu622

This is one of my favorite parts about @Desmos! When doing a Polygraph activity, Ss aren’t able to figure out who they are partnered with so they are more willing to branch out of their comfort zones. Also Desmos is just amazing. ✨ #smu622
Love @Desmos option to anonymize students with the use of notable “math” names. So many good CL options for graphing and reflections. #SharpenThePencil

Exciting news: Once final recommendations are issued next week, Minnesotans ages 5-11 can get in line for the shot! Thank you @GovTimWalz for making sure Minnesota is prepped and ready for this critical moment in the battle against COVID- 19 💪 🩹

This 👏🏻 I try to praise mistakes and gather all answers and strategies and have students work out which ones are correct. That way students aren’t hearing an immediate “no” which can be such a put down, especially in math. #SMU622
Math class can be so intimidating, feeling like we need to be right all the time. I'm trying to normalize questions like "What did you try that didn't work?" and the response "I don't know yet."

On yesterday's quiz, just for fun, I ended with the request "in the spirit of Halloween, show the scariest math mistake you can." I wasn't disappointed by some of the student responses!
