When you see an Amazon wishlist for an underfunded TX classroom, tag @GovAbbott or his office on whatever social platform it’s on. Small voices can affect big change when united.

Teaching middle school doesn’t just require a special license; it also requires a pretty unique person who has to be ready for anything.

I’m a Christian and my birthday is literally on 12/25 and yet I would *never* even *consider* putting up Christmas decorations in my classroom?? I can’t believe it’s 2022 and I’m still seeing 1) teachers doing that and 2) other teachers making posts on why you shouldn’t!!

Map of Mathematics.
Enlarge the figure to see all the wonderful areas for exploration and imagination. Which topic might you find most fascinating?

I made an easy to understand flow chart for all those who still don’t understand why teachers are leaving…

We've all been there...parent/teacher conferences. They can either feel incredibly successful, crazy stressful, or totally bomb.
I've partnered with four other educators who I admire greatly to bring you a FREE webinar

My classroom.
I teach 8th grade & my largest class has 38 students. We need 9 more desks. Eight, if my co-teacher gives up their seat. But where do those desks go?
Even then, the county is less than half vaccinated. Masks are optional. Windows don't open.
How is this a plan?

This pandemic has forced me to realize that 90% of my social life was just meeting up with friends to eat 😭

The teachers that every other teacher texts at the last minute asking, “How were we supposed to do this?” are the ones who need to become principals 😂

Seventh grader:
"The way I see it, the pandemic can be broken down into 3 parts:
Part one, when we all thought everything would go back to normal any day,
Part two, when we accepted that normal wasn't happening and looked for different ways to see our friends,
and February."

On a day for the history books, @TheAmandaGorman delivered a poem that more than met the moment. Young people like her are proof that "there is always light, if only we're brave enough to see it; if only we're brave enough to be it."

I’m in the Capitol. I’m safe, and my team and I are sheltering in place.
The President of the United States has incited a riot that has now stormed the Capitol. There are rioters roaming the halls of the Capitol. I saw them with my own eyes.
Our country deserves better.

Try to do something this week to help someone else in a way that has nothing to do with politics. It will make you feel better. And it will be a small but measurable step in helping heal our world.

Saw a reply from someone on a post that basically said the bulk of education is built on the back of unpaid time of teachers. That should make every school board pause.
