Nobody is talking about violence in video games anymore. Is it because social media is a million times worse, maybe?
So, I started playing Mixtape last night. Conceptually, very similar to Simpler Times. Same vision realized with a lot more resources. It's beautiful, definitely my type of experience! But it got me thinking about design choices...
Isn't Simpler Times similar in that way? Not quite. In our game, doing nothing DOES nothing. That was an intentional design choice to encourage the player to slow down. As one reviewer said: "You just sit in a room...". That stillness was the point all along!
