I laid some of this out in my recent essay for @TheNatlInterest but Trumpism is a turn away from protecting the global sea lanes and the free trade they carry and an embrace of continental empire.

This tracks with that.
🇻🇪 Venezuelan acting President Delcy Rodríguez announced a “historic” agreement with the Trump administration to develop 17 oil fields containing 65 billion barrels. She said private operators would invest more than $100 billion and generate over $209 billion in taxes for Venezuela.
Trump called it “the biggest oil deal in world history,” saying his administration and private businesses secured majority U.S. control of more than 65 billion barrels of proven Venezuelan reserves “at no cost to the American taxpayer.” He claimed the deal would more than double U.S. oil reserves, increase supply and “substantially lower” gas prices.
Venezuelan economist Francisco Rodríguez says Delcy Rodríguez’s own figures amount to just $3.22 in tax revenue per barrel, or 4.7% of its current price. That is less than half the royalty rate Venezuela received under concessions granted by dictator Juan Vicente Gómez, whose early-20th-century policies allowed foreign companies to dominate the country’s emerging oil industry.

And she did the video in a cold-shoulder top, no less. Perfection.
Dolly understood something that too many of my public health colleagues have not grasped: a good idea isn't sufficient— you have to sell it. So she got vaccinated in front of cameras, begged her fans to not hesitate, to vaccinate—to a reworking of Jolene

For the billionth time: the potential jury pool isn’t drawn only from Pennsylvania voter rolls. Sometimes noncitizens — like me! — receive jury summons because of DMV records. You are asked if you are a citizen, say no, and you’re disqualified. That’s why it’s the NON-juror list.

Steward Health Care was an example—not the exception. When private equity is unchecked and greedy CEOs like Ralph de la Torre evade consequences, people die. We must pass my Health Over Wealth Act to get private equity out of healthcare. People across our country deserve better.

One thing you have to keep in mind, instead of Anthony Fauci, Senate Republicans could be doing this to, say, Ghislaine Maxwell.

I appreciate AIPAC proving it doesn’t belong in the Dem Party and especially our primaries.
From endorsing Jan 6th members to ensuring Congress remains in the hands of a 34-count felon, AIPAC is an org committed to undermining democracy at home and abroad.
See you in November.

This is interesting: Harry and Meghan come out in support of the DEFIANCE ACT, AOC’s legislation that would allow victims of nonconsensual deepfake AI porn to file civil lawsuits.

ALT Still more bills are sitting, waiting to be prioritized as the need for protection grows. For example, the Defiance Act would create a civil right of action for survivors of nonconsensual deepfakes. It has been passed by the Senate twice but has yet to make it to a vote on the House floor. This begs the question: why the delay? The answer may lie in the deepest offense to families and children: the tech industry’s commitment to pushback on these bills to protect their bottom line.

I'm disgusted with this administration and their incompetence leading to the outbreak and deaths. Doesn't matter if they had "underlying problems." They're still dead because of RFKJR and Trump.

hey this is actually disgusting!!! throwing out Epstein (biggest domestic political issue of our time) for cheap political points with a baseless accusation... it's so disrespectful to victims, muddying the waters while real perpetrators are still very much in power. for what!!!

As a parasitic outbreak harms many and threatens many more of us across our country, Trump once again shares responsibility.
The CDC team responsible for responding to outbreaks like this has been left understaffed and underfunded following Trump's destruction of USAID. Once again, it's the American people who pay the price for Trump's recklessness.

Abdul El-Sayed is asked on MSNOW if he is worried that his anti-Zionist messaging "echoes an old antisemitic trope"
Abdul: "The idea that somehow we are going to use the spectre of antisemitism to defend what a foreign government is doing, does a deep disservice to the well-being of Jewish Americans in this country."
Jackie Alemany: "You haven't made that same tradeoff argument with regards to other items in the US's 800 billion dollar defense budget"
Abdul: "Oh I have, you just don't cover it. No, No, No. I have. You just don't cover it. I'll say the same thing about the money we send to Egypt, which is where my family comes from. So if you want to go ahead and call me anti-Egyptian, go ahead and do that"
