Lukashenka called Trump a staunch capitalist
He recognized Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. election but did not congratulate him.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka mentioned American politicians during the opening of a swimming pool in Minsk, which was built as part of Chinese humanitarian aid to Belarus:
"China promised, and China did. This is discipline. This is an example for us. What was said - it was done. And no Trump, Harris or Biden will turn the Chinese people away. We need to learn from them."
In doing so, the dictator thanked China for more than 30 years of cooperation and friendship, during which Beijing was to never let Minsk down.
According to Lukashenka, the Belarusians and the Chinese are brought closer together by their respect for the heritage of the socialist movement. At the same time, he stated that the West is gradually returning to socialism, although in the 1990s, "they trampled all these concepts with their feet."
"Admittedly, in America [socialism] is still a vulgarity, including from the lips of the victorious Donald Trump, a president who accused Kamala Harris of being a socialist and a communist. Trump - a staunch capitalist. A billionaire, by the way," stressed Lukashenka.
At the same time, he stated that he sees nothing wrong with socialism and that his country is socially oriented.
Donald Trump has already been congratulated by leaders from other countries, including Andrzej Duda, Emmanuel Macron, and Volodymyr Zelensky.
