Ozzie Smith led off the bottom of the ninth inning of Game 5 of the 1985 NLCS and hit a walk-off home run off Tom Niedenfuer. It was the switch-hitter's first career homer batting left-handed.
The Cardinals won 3-2, and Jack Buck's call immediately became part of the moment.
Pretty unbelievable time for a player known far more for defense than power to find his first left-handed home run.
My pickups at a local card show today. Found a few cool Pujols cards I didn’t have, plus a couple of nice Griffeys @CardPurchaser
