Do you have your copy of 🇨🇦 Canada After America?
In their new book, @ricardo_hausman and @ProtzerEric offer a practical strategy for Canadian prosperity while retaining independence.
Drawing on insights from economic complexity, they argue Canada should not retreat from globalization; Canada must get more of its natural resources to global markets while building industries—aerospace, life sciences, technology—that can operate freely across continents.
Last week, Ricardo kicked off the @MaxBellSchool Lecture Series at @mcgillu and participated in an event hosted by the Canadian Ditchley Foundation.

It was a pleasure to welcome and speak with a large group of students from @mcgillu's @MaxBellSchool visiting Parliament Hill today. I was also joined by fellow MPs from across party lines.
We discussed our paths to public service, the challenges of serving as elected representatives, and the major issues shaping Canadian public policy.
The students’ thoughtful questions, enthusiasm, and commitment to public service were inspiring. With bright young minds like these ready to make a difference, Canada’s future is in good hands!

Super-happy with my collaboration with the great @ProtzerEric and the @MaxBellSchool at @mcgillu and with the opportunity to work on a path forward for Canada, given the rupture with the US.
Is the economic rupture with the United States a crisis, or an opportunity for Canadian growth?
In the 2026 McGill Max Bell Lectures, @ricardo_hausman and @ProtzerEric of the @HarvardGrwthLab explore practical strategies for Canadian prosperity in a radically changed world.
