81yo Elkie Brooks blowing the doors off on Jools and, effectively, handing the lassie Adele her ‘arse on a plate’. Outstanding stuff, from an ACTUAL legend. ❤️

Marcus Townend Fundraiser About Marcus After time with local newspapers and the Sporting Life, he worked for the Daily Mail for 35 years, graduating to becoming its racing editor and correspondent – a diligent, principled, talented and tenacious journalist. Marcus's accident It is nearly a year since Marcus fell off his bike and suffered the first of three bleeds in his brain. Three months later, he had gradually recovered well enough from the first two to spend a month at home. The third bleed, which occurred at the end of March, following a plate insertion to repair his skull, proved the most damaging, from which he is still recuperating. Too late, he was finally diagnosed in July to have mild haemophilia. Despite his amazing determination to communicate clearly, self care and mobilise, he will require ongoing neurophysiotherapy and much care from others to achieve his independent potential. How you can help? This year's HWPA Derby Awards Lunch (Monday 7th December) will be combined with a fundraiser for Marcus.. 1. Straight Donation - join the many simply donating... justgiving.com/crowdfunding/… 2. Join the Wall of Supporters for the lunch - not only can you attend the lunch (£140 per head) using the form below, you can also join the list of company logos/sponsors that will form the backdrop form.jotform.com/26262629171… 3. Contribute a Silent Auction Prize - we will be running a silent auction in the weeks building up to the lunch with the auction finishing on the day. We'd love to add some more lots so if you'd like to donate something then email me [email protected]

So sad to report that Accidental Agent died yesterday. He was the horse of so many people’s lifetime. Besides winning my first Group 1 he was a horse of great character who was loved by us all & will be missed by us all. Thank you AA. 💕💕

Completely overwhelmed by all the messages I have received since my statement. As I continue my treatment and my recovery now know that I simply have to raise more awareness around mental health in the future Best part of 6 weeks before the UK Championships starts and all being well I’ll be in a better place by then but for now it’s just one day at a time Thanks again for all your support. It’s meant so so much to myself and my family

Marcus has been having a rotten time. He devoted most of his working life to #horseracing as a great reporter, writer & fan - plus as an enthusiastic one-race jockey. It would be great if you were able to help…

Remembering Dónal Lunny, one of Ireland's most celebrated musicians, who has died aged 79 🤍 During his last appearance on the #LateLate in January of this year, the multi-instumentalist became the first inductee into our Trad Music Hall of Fame - a testament to his influence and the impact he had on the genre over the years. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
