Sixty years in public life, and still the same person. Proud of you, Ma. ❤️
"The values that I learnt growing up survive. I have tried my best to be true to them: loyalty to family and friends, sincerity and feeling for others, the idea of being dutiful and responsible. I think I can say that in these I am the same person Rajiv met sixty years ago." - CPP Chairperson @SoniaGandhi

Govt's oil companies IOC, BPCL and HPCL reject Karnataka Govt's report about 31.2 % ethanol found in E20 petrol.
1. The oil companies have questioned 'testing methodology'.
2. They have also questioned the 'sampling methodology'
What they haven't revealed:
The state govt sent them the same samples first, which the oil companies tested but did NOT reveal ethanol percentage.
This is why the Karnataka Govt sent the samples to independent labs.
Both Shell and Nayara have not disputed the higher ethanol percentage claims.
Make of it what you will!

Congress minister Rizwan Arshad alleges that petrol samples tested across seven Karnataka districts showed ethanol content exceeding 20%, with IOCL and HPCL samples recording 31.2% and 30.5% respectively.
Calling it a breach of public trust, he demands action against oil companies, an E20 compensation fund for consumers facing mileage loss and vehicle damage, and mandatory disclosure of ethanol content at fuel pumps.
He also wants consumers to have the option of buying E10 petrol.

Rs 85,000 for Temple. What does an ordinary person actually get?
@deepigoyal, here are the questions a buyer would ask. I'm a doctor with 30+ years of practice, and I'd like straight answers.
1. What do I do with the numbers?
Say my BrainFlow is low today. Or my Span is 40. What exactly should I do tomorrow? Sleep more? Exercise less or more? See a doctor? I can't find a single actionable on your site, in your studies or in your "foundational research."
2. Why should I care about Span and Entropy?
Your homepage says Span shows "how well your body is doing across a wide range of systems." Medicine has no such single number. Entropy and Span are Temple's own scores. The papers you cite for them are a hypothesis paper and an 11-man cycling study. I found no study showing that tracking or improving these numbers extends healthspan or lifespan.
3. Is this a breakthrough in longevity?
Not on the evidence shown. Your studies on BrainFlow, still "in peer review," tested healthy young people in short posture and exercise tests. It's an interesting start. It isn't a proven health or lifespan tool, and your own research page says associations don't show that raising brain flow prolongs life.
4. What does the contract say?
Your terms say it's not a medical device and that Temple makes no representation about the validity, accuracy or reliability of its data. Use is at the buyer's risk. Big promise in the marketing, none in the fine print.
5. What if I'm unhappy?
You say returns are 14-day, no-questions-asked. The terms say: reason and proof required, refund may be partial after inspection, shipping and taxes non-refundable, decisions final, and legal action against "invalid" claims.
6. What else gives me heart rate and recovery?
Any decent watch does.
A BP monitor, the right blood tests and a good watch cost a fraction of this.
What actually protects the brain and extends healthy life is known for years, cheap and needs no sensor: exercise, sleep, BP and sugar control, social connection, learning new things.
Early-stage science is fine.
But please tell buyers plainly, on the product page: "This device can't tell you whether you are healthy or ill, and no study yet shows it helps you live longer or better."
Mocking doctors won't answer these questions. A clear product page will.
Dear Concerned Indian Doctors,
I see your rage against Temple on X. I have a few points
to make:
1. First and foremost, a business lesson: if Temple were a scam, and any of what we said weren't true, people would know it in just a few days of using Temple. We have 14-day, no-questions-asked returns (which even Apple doesn't offer in India). If the product doesn't work, it fails out of the gate and the company dies before recovering a tenth of its R&D.
2. We have already spent $30m building Temple, $20m out of which is my own money. Selling a few thousand devices recovers a small fraction of this investment. A scam that pays nothing is not a scam anyone would run.
3. I left the Eternal CEO role to chase purpose with Temple. This is not about money. I have enough of it to last for generations. My incentives are fully aligned with getting the science right. I am not staking a reputation earned over 20 years on making a quick buck.
4. Our employees bought into our round a few months ago. The round we're raising now is mostly our customers. Scams don't build that cap table.
5. Most wearable companies start with internal studies. Whoop shipped its band in 2015, and the first published validation followed a few years later. We hold ourselves to a higher standard; pre-prints are a step prior to peer reviewed publications, and they are coming up.
6. At some point you have to stick your neck out and say: we believe in our science, and the product is now valuable enough for people to pay for and use. We believe we are there. More validation continues in public.
7. We are confident that we are building something that the world is going to be positively astonished with. We stand by our science and our methods. Each of our claims is easily verifiable by individuals and institutions alike, and you will see a lot of independent studies come up on their own when the device becomes available to use.
Last but not the least, the most ground breaking features in Temple are not even public yet. And some of them, thankfully, have nothing to do with doctors 🤭
Hope this addresses some or all of your concerns. If not, keep raging 😘🤗

This whole debate over whether Diwali is a strictly Hindu festival or a secular one is retarded. Every festival is a mix of a traditional, religious core and a contemporary, secular shell. The traditional part sticks to the absolute doctrinal recipe but enjoys zero appeal outside the community. The secular part has little to do with that recipe, but is fun and therefore enjoys mass appeal.
You pick what you want and to what degree.
Neither is wrong.
Christmas isn’t popular among non-Christians because of its oh-so-sublime midnight mass. It’s popular because of Christmas parties, Secret Santas, and a whole lot of capitalism dedicated solely to making it fun.
Navratri has its Durga Saptashati and fasting and other rituals for the core practitioners, and it has the high-octane garbas and pandal-hopping for others. Which one do you think makes it popular?
What do you think makes Diwali attractive to non-traditionalists? Ram’s return to Ayodhya, or the fireworks and the parties?
You can stick to the roots, or you can seek mass appeal. What you cannot have is both. You can’t make your festival strictly puritanical and sulk, “Why does everybody celebrate Halloween but nobody gives a fuck about Satyanarayana Puja?” That’s not how any of it works.
There’s nothing wrong with staying rooted. Just dont demand to be popular.
Also, you can only choose for yourself. You want to stick to tradition, go ahead. You want to only participate in the secular side? Sure. But you don’t get to tell others what to choose.
Nor do you get to redefine the festival’s identity.
Christmas will forever remain a Christian festival, regardless of capitalism.
Same way Diwali will forever remain an Indic festival even if Pakistan decides to celebrate.

Drop the drama & roll it back completely. Don’t fix what ain’t broke.
#WATCH | Chief of Defence Staff General NS Raja Subramani says, "Today is a very significant day for the Indian Defence Forces and for our 'Agniveers'. The Cabinet has created a pathway for all Agniveers to be absorbed into the Indian As you are aware, the 'Agnipath' scheme was introduced on June 14, 2022...25% of the Agniveers are to be enrolled into the regular forces based on merit. Previously, the provision was for 75% of the Agniveers to transition back into society as disciplined and motivated youth. However, under this updated scheme, the remaining 75% of #Agniveers will now be offered an additional engagement period of two years. Upon the completion of this two-year period, all those who are willing will be enrolled into the Armed Forces, subject to objective selection criteria."

RG, make sure this 6 turns into 15 with pension.
Taking a significant decision today, the Union Cabinet chaired by PM Shri @narendramodi has approved a two-year ‘Second Tour of Duty’ for Agniveers under #Agnipath.
I sincerely thank PM Modi for taking the decision of additional 2-year ‘Second Tour of Duty’ for Agniveers under the Agnipath scheme. This would also provide enrollment of all willing Agniveers as regular soldiers after the tenure of 4/6 years, who meet the selection criteria.
This decision is continuation of long-term structural reforms of our defence forces, aimed at creating a younger, fitter, technologically equipped and future-ready military. It is not merely a recruitment policy; it is a way forward to prepare India's military for the changing character of warfare.
