Great question. My rough framing is that AI has given engineering a 100x boost, product 10x, and design 5x. That imbalance creates real strain: engineers can merge lots of individual changes while the overall UX gets less coherent, and designers burn out trying to keep up.
Design is a deep craft. It takes thought and a view of the whole experience. We haven’t given designers tooling that matches how quickly we can now produce code.
That’s why we’re building Inspect for designers. The ambition is to give them the 200x boost. Then engineers can be the ones trying to keep up :)

I haven't been this excited about smartphone apps since 2008.
The iPhone Duo seems to have galvanized the developer community, leading to an explosion of novel concepts and new designs. Feels like the iPhone 3G all over again, and I'm *very much* here for it

If you put the Apple icons in reverse it looks like the portfolio of someone getting really really good at icon design

“design is dead”
yes babe, we know. why do you think we’ve been wearing only black this whole time?
“The further you are from the work, the harder it is to learn.
This moment demands learning.”

😍 One of the more inspiring drops I’ve seen on this website, thoughtful, fun storytelling
Hi, it's Darshita. I am a designer.
And I'm pitching myself in public 'cause I'm done with a year full of anxiety.
Everyone says design is dead and AI killed it. But the real parasite was hiding in plain sight.
So here's my film, DESIGN IS DEAD. She's bold, fearless and very PINK 💖
Hiring? My DMs are open.
I’ve worked remotely since early 2019, and apparently I’ve been miserable this entire time without realizing it.
Meanwhile, I’ve watched my kids grow up, spent more time with my wife, gotten to know my neighbors, built a garden, and done some of my best work.
But sure, tell me what I’m missing.
Used @_kejk’s hiring-manager-bar skill with Codex to review my portfolio. It sharpened some of my case study stories, clarified my contribution, and cleaned up mobile reading.
my folio is still a fidget spinner, just easier to understand what I actually made and shipped 😎
Off the back of the feedback I’ve seen since sharing “The hiring manager is your user”, I’ve turned the thinking into a skill you can use to review your own portfolio.
It asks your coding agent to read the site as someone trying to understand your work: what you’ve shipped, which parts you owned, and where your experience might fit. It then traces the gaps back to your code and content, with specific changes to make and a way to check whether they’ve helped.
I wanted it to preserve the personality and experiments too. The point of the article was to make the work easier to understand, and there’s plenty of room to do that whilst still making a site that feels like you.
If you’re working on your portfolio, you can find `hiring-manager-bar` in my skills collection: github.com/kemiljk/skills/tr…

They really just got on stage and said this newly designed 4000+ pound car can do flips and go half the speed of sound (380+mph) and will ship in 2028. This is a prank, right?
