They fight really hard about these things because they are what show the world they are “good” parents
Outside of that, they’re too busy. Being a partner in th education of that kid is no longer an indicator of parenting success

I have noticed that parents of school-aged children generally clock out of parenting, but they have identified several indicators of them “being a good parent” that they abide by.
1. Cupcakes for the bday at school
2. Posting report cards on FB
3. Ordering/Packing lunch

I think one of the unfortunate things abt being accommodating is that ppl eventually stop recognizing your flexibility as something you're choosing to give them. It becomes the baseline for the relationship. Then the first time you prioritize yourself, you’re demonized

I'm putting together a list of artisans who make Afrocentric work: carvers, weavers, painters, furniture makers and metalworkers.
The aim is to introduce good makers to buyers outside our own markets. If this is you, let's connect. Please send me a DM with photos of your finished pieces.

I’m so proud of Brazil. This election literally saved the planet. Lula’s commitment to stopping deforestation of the Amazon can and will slow climate change. Not to mention the way people were mobilized. People were in canoes to go vote! The power of the people is so beautiful.

Missy is saying a whole lot here💀. That’s why I tell people to always pay attention to who is in Janet’s circle. Who she champions
And yes, Janet could easily say I carved my own lane. I don’t even have to bother trying to compete with talent after me but she’s too humble to 😂

Choose the Cape chestnut, as it is an indigenous tree. It produces spectacular flowers, and its roots are less invasive and its branches less brittle than those of the jacaranda. Oh and it grows faster than Jacaranda too. – at Gikambura, Kenya
