Look at this, stashed away on page 118 of the budget...
The Government is implementing visa salary requirement changes from spring 2027 that will reduce 'occupation-specific minimum salary thresholds from the median to the 25th percentile of wages'.
In short, making it FAR easier for firms to hire migrants.
Why are they lowering barriers to overseas workers instead of training British men and women?

"Our old gelding went blind in March and the goose has walked him to water every day since. She gets her body against his shoulder and steers him with it. When there's something in the way she stops and plants herself and he stops too. Then she taps the side of the tank so he knows where it is. Nobody taught her any of that.

Shelter security footage from kennel 4. They call him Ghost — he's been waiting for a home for 7 months. Honey arrived three days ago, too weak to stand, too scared to eat.
The volunteers put them together that night. The camera caught what happened next.
If Ghost and Honey moved you, please share them. Somewhere out there are the families they've been waiting for.

That’s the part that gets me.
In farming you see it all the time — the ones that look like they won’t make it are the ones that end up surprising you the most. The ones everyone else walks past. A little extra care, a little patience, and suddenly you’ve got something that was never supposed to be there.
It’s a good reminder that value isn’t always sitting there in the obvious places. Sometimes you have to look past what’s on paper and give something a real chance.
Anybody else ever bought something “worthless” that turned out to be one of the best calls you ever made?
