Socialists in Milwaukee?
Not the first time.
Beginning in 1910, Milwaukee — a city long associate with beer and bratwurst — elected three Socialist mayors who made parks, public housing and sanitation priorities of city government.
Mo Rocca examines the origins and record of the Midwestern city’s “sewer socialism,” and what the city’s experience reveals about a political label that still provokes debate.
I'd like to see this film about
Jimmy Stewart.
You can see an edginess in ALL of his performances
after the war.
The same year Jimmy Stewart won an Academy Award for “The Philadelphia Story,” he was drafted into the U.S. Armed Forces.
Stewart served as a pilot, flying 20 successful missions, during World War II — and came home a different man.
Lee Cowan spoke to the stars of the new film “Jimmy,” KJ Apa and Max Casella, and Stewart’s daughter, Kelly Stewart Hardcourt, about what the actor’s service did to his soul.

I just caught a Trick-or-Treater dressed up as Angel Reese trying to egg my house.
She missed.

I've been adapting banjo tunes for guitar; specifically in the style @amanofthesoil uses, and it's really increased my enjoyment of the instrument. The challenge of playing as close to the same notes on a different string arrangement as possible is just the right feeling. I can play Cotton Eyed Joe, Oh Susanna, and Naomi Wise; working on a version of Death and the Lady now. I recommend every guitar player try this. By ear if you can swing it.
