Thrilled to say: Afterbody (@DiodeBlue, Edinburgh), was launched at the Scottish Poetry Library to a full house! @ByLeavesWeLive; thanks to all who helped me shape this book or hold me steady when I needed to. Ten years in the making, it's now yours. Peruse at will, as I sleep.

Very sorry to report that Douglas Dunn has passed away. He was the finest Scottish poet of the post-war period. Dougie was also someone we knew and loved as a dear friend, mentor and teacher, and he will be deeply missed.

fun fashion fact: i believe Carson is wearing a traditional lopapeysa sweater, an icelandic garment whose modern design was created by Auður Laxness, craftswoman wife of fellow Nobel laureate Halldór Laxness.
Just in! New Nobel Prize laureate in literature Anne Carson stands surprised in her kitchen in Reykjavík, Iceland. Stay tuned for our exclusive interview with her coming soon. Join us in congratulating our 2026 literature laureate - send your greetings in the comments.

Carson - completely well deserved and how great it is that poets have started winning the Nobel Prize again; the hope was great indeed when Louise Gluck earned it, today it has cemented. This is a great day for all poets who are women.

We all try to be good and then the people we want us to be good sometimes tell us we are good. Thank you, @donpatersonpoet ...for this message for my book launch last night. It made me cry, and I am Scottish, and basically made frae girders, so it was quite the thing xxx

Yesterday at the Scottish Parliament, I was delighted to sponsor Planting Poetry & Music, a beautiful and immersive session bringing poetry, classical music, and dance into the heart of Holyrood. The night also celebrated the launch of Tale of Tawaif, a research anthology by Indian classical vocalist Chandra Chakraborty. Hearing her work, alongside powerful readings by poets @NazaretRanea and Medha Singh (@medhawrites), and a beautiful Tagore performance by Anasua Paul, and T M Ahmed Kaysher made the whole evening incredibly special. Thank you to T M Ahmed Kaysher, Director of @Saudha01, and everyone at the Society of Poetry and Indian Music for making this inspiring event possible.

(3/3) Special thanks to @RobAMackenzie1 Rob A. Mackenzie for all that can't be put to words, a poet and publisher who goes beyond support and encouragement, has so much faith in his writers, faith that carries us along like leaves in spring carried by water.

The evening included beautiful renditions of various ragas sung by renowned classical singer and ethnomusicologist Chandra Chakraborty and interpreter of Tagore and sangeet expert Anasuya Paul. Thanks to the team, organisers and everyone else I mention not by name. (2/3)
