“That is brilliant leadership from Arsenal” 🗣️ Karl Robinson reacts to Arsenal’s decision to appeal Max Dowman’s red card from last night's match against Fleetwood.

This angle shows Max Dowman’s leg is still trapped when he pushes out. There is no force, despite the defender have a follow up pop with his left leg. And, as for the fake hard men jumping on a 16 year old, pathetic. #Arsenal are right to appeal.

The delight with which people reacted to 16 year old Max Dowman's red card is a bit uncomfortable.
Yes he shouldn't react like that, and I'm sure other sides will be looking to push him when he's back...
But the challenge from Harrison Neal is a really nasty one, and speaks to Dowman's quality. He and other flair players need to be protected.

This wasn’t just a leg-breaking tackle; it could’ve snapped his back too if Dowman didn’t have proper balance.
His reaction was absolutely justified. He didn’t even kick the guy; he only charged at him to show his frustration. Really poor officiating from the referee.
Arteta has to apologise to Dowman for the words he said to him while walking down the tunnel.
Embarrassing from fleetwood players all gathering round a 16 year old after a poor challenge from their player tbh
Imagine 6 of u pushing a child round (after a tiny leg tap retaliation)
Surprised the Arsenal players didn’t lose their heads more
The intent of the challenge is just nasty, zero reason to go into that speed, the trailing leg rising
Then the reaction of a bunch of grown men on a 16 year old 😂
Extremely weird based on a leg scuffle
Wasn’t even a red card challenge but I’m happy Max reacted like that

I’m sorry but how on earth has Max Dowman been sent off here?
That’s one of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen a referee make, that’s a genuine disgrace from the official

I see a lot of people getting mad at Arteta over how he reacted to Max, but if you watch the replay, that red card needs to be reviewed. It was never a red card. The referee probably thought Max kicked him back, but he didn’t. VAR could have reviewed it if available.

I’ve seen people saying David Raya was robbed and should have won Best Goalkeeper.
But what do you expect when the English media and pundits spend every day criticising Arsenal players?
The journalists voting for these awards come from all over the world. They may not watch these players every week, but they are constantly exposed to the narratives pushed by the media.
Then we wonder why Premier League players often struggle to win these individual awards!
How did Rodri, and even Messi, finish ahead of Haaland?
While the English media and pundits overanalyse and overcriticise their own players, the media in other leagues go all out to promote and build positive narratives around their stars.
You cannot spend all year tearing your players down and expect the world to campaign for them when award season comes around.

🚨🟥 MAX DOWMAN’S RED CARD DESERVES SERIOUS SCRUTINY.
How does a decision this significant get made without any apparent consultation between the referee and the assistant referee, despite both having a clear view of the incident?
Even more puzzling, no other player received a booking during the incident.
Arsenal fans have every reason to question the consistency and judgement behind the decision. Big calls demand clear reasoning, not unnecessary controversy. ❌

Ref hasn’t seen what Dowman did btw. He’s seen the reaction from the Fleetwood players and fallen for it. Another useless fuck with a whistle.

Dowman might miss 3 games with the red card, but he’s very lucky not to be miss a lot more with an injury
Mikel Arteta on Max Dowman being ‘targeted’: “When we prepared the context of the match, we were very clear on the things to expect, the things that emotionally we have to dominate.”
🗣️ “What did you say when he went down the tunnel?”
Mikel Arteta: “Something we discussed before the game.”

Max Dowman has been on the receiving end of a disgusting tackle.
He done the tinniest kick out.
It’s never a red.
Melvyn Altwarg retweeted
Honestly, what even was that?
How did the young lad who almost lost his leg instead end up with a red card?
I’m relieved @Arsenal is finally out of this minor @Carabao_Cup tournament. The referee needs to be fired and that redcard recalled!

"Straight red for a kid reacting to a tackle that should’ve been red itself. Unbelievable."

The fact that people can’t put differences to one side &1 accept this is NOT acceptable behaviour 90mins towards a 16 year old kid in sport, shows what the world is bout in this game
Sadly,he will be the next Jack Wilshere & people Won’t care as it’s “fuck arsenal” no matter what
Genuinely think ur incredibly weird if u don’t see how this tackle is scum of the earth
Went in with dumb speed, but the audacity to lift the trailing leg up while already having Dowman’s foot trapped
There was ZERO reason for him to lift the trailing leg up and yet it was PURPOSEFUL
If Dowman fell and didn’t stay on his feet, what do you think is gonna happen to him ?
It’s pathetic and disguising
