“God is the highest good of the reasonable creature. The enjoyment of him is our proper; and is the only happiness with which our souls can be satisfied. To go to heaven, fully to enjoy God, is infinitely better than the most pleasant accommodations here. Better than fathers and mothers, husbands, wives, or children, or the company of any, or all earthly friends. These are but shadows; but the enjoyment of God is the substance. These are but scattered beams; but God is the sun. These are but streams; but God is the fountain. These are but drops, but God is the ocean.” - Jonathan Edwards

Let’s take a break from all the political posts. Do you have a lifetime Bible? If you do, post a pic! This was mine until it was ruined in a house flood. It was a gift while I was in Bible college. I used it for everything life and ministry related. I think if I came across one again, I’d go back to making the NASB95 again. RL Allan make the best bibles that will last a lifetime in a variety of translations. If you’re looking for one, check them out. Also check out Schuyler Bibles. They’re pricey but it’s God’s Word. Look at how much you spend on a cell phone 🤔

One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

My dear Wormwood, Be sure that the patient remains completely fixated on politics. Arguments, political gossip and obsessing on the faults of people they have never met serves as an excellent distraction from advancing in personal virtue, character, and the things the patient can control. Make sure to keep the patient in a constant state of angst, frustration, and general disdain towards the rest of the human race in order to avoid any kind of charity or inner peace from further developing. Ensure the patient continues to believe that the problem is "out there" in the "broken system" rather than recognizing there is a problem with himself. Keep up the good work, Uncle Screwtape C.S. Some key questions worth considering: • Do I know more about God today than I did a year ago? • Am I intentionally pursuing greater understanding of Scripture? • Do I delight in discovering more of God's character? • Does my theological knowledge produce humility, worship, and obedience? • Am I teaching my family the truths I am learning?

“Without the principle of self-denial man is either led to indulgence in the grossest vices without the least shame; or, if there is any appearance of virtue in him, it is spoiled by an evil passion for glory. Show me a single man who does not believe in the Lord's law of self-denial, and who yet willingly practices virtue among men.” - John Calvin

If you can’t say amen then you better say ouch
To my fellow brothers in the Lord Jesus Christ, there seem to be some of you who are being controlled by your emotions. Being ruled by your emotions shows a lack of discernment and puts you in a defenseless position, being easily overrun. Here are a few passages of scripture to help you with that: Like a city that is broken into and without a wall Is a man without restraint over his spirit. Proverbs 25:28, LSB He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his own spirit, than he who captures a city. Proverbs 16:32, LSB A fool lets out all of his spirit, But a wise man holds it back. Proverbs 29:11, LSB A man’s insight makes him slow to anger, And it is his honor to overlook a transgression. Proverbs 19:11, LSB Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension. 1 Timothy 2:8, LSB Know this, my beloved brothers. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. James 1:19-20, LSB But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23, LSB But now you also, lay them all aside: wrath, anger, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth. Colossians 3:8, LSB Scripture does not teach emotional numbness. Emotions are a gift from the Lord. However, they are to be a thermometer, not a thermostat. Scripture consistently treats uncontrolled emotional expression including but not limited to anger, reactivity, and venting, as a mark of folly and weakness. Ruling one’s spirit is shown to be of greater strength than conquering a city. For men in particular, this restraint is tied to prayer, leadership, and the command to “act like men.” The solution is not mere willpower/white knuckling it, but a fruit of the Spirit (self-control) that must be practiced and cultivated as it is worked out in daily obedience. Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13, LSB Press on. CH

Men, the standard you establish shapes the culture you build. Pursue holiness, cultivate discipline, lead with courage, and make Christlikeness the aim. Don’t merely resist what is wrong; actively build what is right. You’ll be amazed at the change you see in yourself, your home, your church, and your community. “Pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace…” — 2 Timothy 2:22 (LSB)

“AImighty God and Father, grant unto us, because we have to go through much strife on this earth, the - strength of thy Holy Spirit, in order that we may courageously go through the fire, and through the water, and that we may put ourselves so under thy rule that we may go to meet death in full confidence of thy assistance and without fear. Grant us also that we may bear all hatred and enmity of mankind, until we have gained the last victory, and that we may at last come to that blessed rest which thy only begotten Son has acquired for us through his blood. Amen.” - John Calvin

“for God is the fountain of love, as the sun is the fountain of light. And therefore the. glorious presence of God in heaven fills heaven with love, as the sun placed in the midst of the hemisphere in a clear day fills the world with light. The Apostle tells us that God is love, 1 John 4:8. And therefore seeing he is an infinite Being, it follows that he is an infinite fountain of love. Seeing he is an all-sufficient Being,. it follows that he is a full and overflowing and an inexhaustible fountain of love.” - Jonathan Edwards, Heaven is a World of Love

Some of you through words typed, have shown the true condition of your hearts, your ignorance of immigration laws, and most importantly your complete lack of love for and knowledge of what the scriptures teach concerning love your fellow brother in Christ.

The main benefit obtained by preaching is by impression made upon the mind at the time, and not by an effect that arises afterwards by a remembrance of what was delivered.
