Now, this is a lede... for Steve Inskeep.
Now this, my friends, is how you write the first line of a story, from @helenlewis

"Who we are in our lived experiences" - This is about compassion, not battles.
This contentious interchange between the NY Times and @GinaHinojosaTX was truly amazing. Hinojosa offered one of the best explanations of populism I've ever seen. Her comments were a total rejection of Corporate Dems' neoliberal formula. Her Texas victory is a game changer.
MAGA thought stupidity was a bargain.
There is no “getting even” for the many people lost or murdered in ICE custody. There is no “getting even” with the systematic dismantling of women’s rights that has led to record increases in maternal mortality. There is no “getting even” for entering a war we didn’t ask for or approve. There is no “getting even” with global loss of life from demolishing USAID. The list goes on.
Getting even and forcing accountability are two different things.
Period.

FYI @NPRinskeep
"Thomas Jefferson taught that a democracy was impractical unless the people were educated. No matter how stringent the protections of the people might be in constitutions or common law, there would always be a temptation, Jefferson thought, for the powerful, the wealthy, and the unscrupulous to undermine the ideal of government run by and for ordinary citizens.
The antidote is vigorous support for the expression of unpopular views, widespread literacy, substantive debate, a common familiarity with critical thinking, and skepticism of pronouncements of those in authority—which are all also central to the scientific method."

Not to mention the Mar a Lago documents case was a slam dunk, and Trump would be in jail if not for Aileen Cannon…
How are WE going to stop him?
"Even if Democrats sweep the midterms, Trump will still be president, and his closing act will likely involve trying to tear the country apart. We can’t allow him to do that."

A major part of therapy is “An Empathic Ear”. If people everywhere learned to provide this for each other, just a little bit, think how much better off we’d be. theawakenetwork.com/dan-sieg…
Unfortunately, evolution programs us for survival, not liberation.
"Evolution does not need a rebuild, and The Selfish Gene is not outmoded. It remains...a page-turner." Nathaniel Comfort's misguided take on The Selfish Gene at 50 whyevolutionistrue.com/2026/…
