The laws of physics haven't changed since this brilliant illustration appeared in Albert Whitney's "Man and the Motor Car" (1936). HT @tweetsupa
Lots of space for scooters and bike share, none for bikes like mine.
Replying to @MikeLindblom
@MikeLindblom @Spottnik I’m checking out the bike parking at AllStar Village and there is NONE. HUH???

These arrows directing people to AllStar village are positioned so far from the curb cuts they can’t be read from a wheelchair

Fire danger is abnormally high this holiday weekend. URGING you to consider firework alternatives: - screaming “bang! boom!” at the sky - dropping a stack of large books on the floor - wrapping a toga around a candle - play America the Beautiful while combining Coke and Mentos

Bike use is an all-age activity in the Netherlands. Women over the age of 65 use bikes more than men and incredibly use bikes for a higher percentage of journeys than 20 - 30 year old men! /2

Susie King Taylor. Another name to remember.
Susie King Taylor served in the American Civil War. Her captain wrote “I regret that you are debarred from having your name on the roll of pensioners as an Army Nurse; for among all the number of heroic women whom the government is now rewarding, I know of no one more deserving.”

Waiting half an hour from 11:00 pm to ??? for a northbound Link train - no announcement, no nothing. Supposedly 15 minute headways. Sad

The fact that it's almost impossible to get to and from Olympia without driving appears to be one of the main challenges for a state representative who has been experiencing vision loss. Legislators don't seem in any hurry to fix this, sadly.

Just heartbroken this morning 💔 Elijah L. Lewis, a tireless advocate for youth in Seattle was taken from us in a senseless act of violence on Capitol Hill yesterday. At only 23 years old, Elijah was a true champion for the change he wanted to see for young people in the Emerald City. He was community builder, advocate, innovator, and our brother. #WWConverge

A well-marked, well-protected pedestrian detour with curb ramps around Madison construction - nice! @Spottnik @SNGreenways @typewriteralley

In the UK, tires generate over 50% of particle pollution from transport -- 3x the share from car emissions. “Even if all our vehicles eventually become powered by electricity...we will still have harmful pollution from vehicles because of tyre wear." theguardian.com/environment/…
