A thread🧵: Let's talk about #antisemitism. It manifests on the right. It manifests on the left. It can even manifest in the center. It's in politics. It's on college campuses. It's seen at the core for many, if not most, forms of extremism. It's been mainstreamed. It's in media.

ADL, @jfederations, @AJCGlobal, @Conf_of_Pres and @PrizmahCJDS are appalled that a planned professional development trip by Jewish early childhood educators to Reggio Children in Italy was met with political litmus tests and antisemitic rhetoric. This incident reflects a troubling pattern of isolating Jews and Jewish institutions and making their participation in civic spaces contingent on renouncing ties to Israel, the world's sole Jewish state. Bringing this into early childhood education is particularly disturbing. We call on Reggio Children to issue an unambiguous public apology acknowledging the antisemitism these educators faced and take concrete steps to ensure all educators are welcomed, respected and treated equally. A commitment to justice for all children must include Israeli and Jewish children. Read our full statement: adl.org/resources/press-rele…

We condemn the recent violence against Palestinian olive harvesters, journalists and international visitors in the West Bank, including the assault on American photojournalist Heidi Levine. These attacks are part of a broader, deeply troubling pattern of violence and intimidation that demands urgent action by Israeli authorities. We welcome the condemnations by FM Saar and the IDF and the opening of an investigation. Those steps must be followed by effective law enforcement. Confronting this extremism is essential to upholding the rule of law and the values on which Israel was founded. timesofisrael.com/european-d…

For the second time this week, Tucker Carlson has platformed Holocaust revisionism while spreading disinformation about 10/7, the deadliest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. It is a well-established fact that Hamas terrorists murdered over 1,200 people and took 251 hostages that day. But Carlson is using his platform to cast doubt on Hamas's responsibility. He told his millions of followers "we still don't know who killed them all" and called conspiracy theories about whether Israel allowed the attack "entirely legitimate." Carlson then likened Israel's response in Gaza to the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union. Carlson further promoted antisemitic conspiracy theories about Jewish control and power by claiming that Israel and pro-Israel lobbying groups control American politics while also questioning the loyalty of American-Israeli dual citizens. And he's doing it before an audience of millions, making his rhetoric all the more dangerous as he exploits antisemitism for attention, relevance and personal gain.

Exactly.
.@NYCMayor, not once do you say “Jews.” On Oct. 7, Hamas-led attackers murdered civilians, committed sexual violence, mutilated bodies and took hostages. You are weaponizing a day meant for mourning the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust to recycle your usual antizionist talking points. The city with the largest Jewish population outside Israel deserves a mayor who can honor the dead without exploiting them.

1/ Canceled. Blacklisted. Shut out. Jewish and Israeli artists are being pushed out of American cultural life. That’s why we launched ADL’s State of the Arts: a first-of-its-kind body of research revealing a systemic pattern of discrimination and antisemitism against Jewish and Israeli artists across museums, entertainment and publishing. adl.org/resources/press-rele… 🧵

Jewish and Israeli artists are being canceled, blacklisted and pushed out of American cultural life simply because of who they are. ADL’s State of the Arts is a first-of-its-kind research initiative and digital platform documenting the exclusion and marginalization of Jewish and Israeli artists. Launching tomorrow 10/1.

.@NYCMayor Mamdani's antisemitism strategy finally landed and only confirms what we already knew: this mayor does not treat the hate facing Jewish New Yorkers as an emergency and refuses to acknowledge the different shapes it takes. Since he took office 271 days ago, ADL has recorded hundreds of antisemitic incidents in NYC, nearly 40% of which were related to Israel. After throwing out the IHRA definition on his first day in office, nine months later, his signature strategy still refuses to replace it with any working definition of antisemitism. He has looked the other way as flags glorifying terror groups have been flown outside synagogues, a deliberate act meant to intimidate families walking in to pray, and as crowds gathered outside houses of worship voicing support for the same groups. At the same time, he continues prioritizing his anti-Israel agenda over the basic promises he made to Jewish New Yorkers. Our expectations have not changed: zero tolerance for antisemitism and extremism in city government, real protection for Jewish institutions, a clear and formal definition of antisemitism that the city actually uses, and city contracts, pensions and procurement kept free of ideological boycotts. ADL will keep tracking and fighting antisemitism in New York City and across the country, whether or not this mayor is willing to do the same.
The Talmud teaches that anyone who sustains one soul, has sustained an entire world. For generations, Jewish New Yorkers have sustained our city. Today, we are launching the first-ever municipal Strategy to Combat Antisemitism. Together, we will ensure Jewish New Yorkers are safe and celebrated. We will invest in their protection, their history, and their future. Our safety and our thriving are tied together.

Praying for a refuah shlema for Neria Dov ben Chana and for strength and comfort for you and your entire family.
I am grateful to the IDF, to the medical team at Shaare Zedek who are now fighting to save the life of Neria Dov ben Chana, and for the prayers of the people of Israel. I believe in the power of prayer, and I believe that when the people of Israel unite, miracles happen. Neria needs a miracle. Neria continued to serve in the reserves after losing his older brother, Moshe Yedidya Leiter, of blessed memory. Since October 7th, he has served hundreds of days in the reserves on multiple fronts. Palestinian terrorism seeks to uproot the people of Israel from their land. They choose death - we choose life.

This demands answers, not silence. We've already put City Hall on notice to preserve all relevant records and have filed a FOIL request. City Hall should never platform antisemitism. We look forward to answers at the NYC Council's Governmental Operations Hearing. City Hall is no place for hate.
.@NYCMayor Mamdani’s administration reportedly runs a private Signal chat with ~200 influencers and reporting shows at least one received a paid @NYCSanitation promotion, raising questions about taxpayer-funded messaging outside public view. We know several influencers with this access have pushed antisemitic and anti-Israel rhetoric. For example: Ariana Jasmine Afshar, a fixture at Mamdani City Hall events, has claimed “the Israeli lobby” secretly controls the U.S. government, said Israel “bought” an election and called Israelis “baby killers.” These invoke classic antisemitic tropes, not mere political criticism. City Hall shouldn't be providing a bigger megaphone for this kind of hate. The Mayor’s office needs to release the details of this program, chat and its participants to see what messages and messengers are being promoted from City Hall.

The NextGen Advisory Council will bring their perspectives into @ADL's decision-making. This is a generation that has come of age during the worst surge of antisemitism in decades, and they did not back down. They organized, they led, and they built community when it was hardest to do so. This talented group will help make our strategy sharper and our voice more resonant to the young people we exist to protect.
We’re excited to introduce ADL’s inaugural NextGen Advisory Council! Made up of students and young professionals who have demonstrated leadership on campus, in the workplace and in their communities, the Council will bring critical perspectives to ADL's Board of Directors and senior leadership on how younger generations are experiencing antisemitism and navigating a rapidly changing world. We look forward to working with and learning from this incredible group. Learn more: adl.org/resources/press-rele…

We join our J7 colleagues @BoardofDeputies in expressing deep concern over today's UK government announcement. A future of peace, security and dignity for Israelis and Palestinians is essential, and extremist violence in the West Bank is unacceptable and must be addressed. But singling out Israel while leaving Palestinian leaders and malign actors unaccountable will not advance that future, and risks emboldening those who already single out and target Israel, Israelis and Jews around the globe. Announcing these measures during an active Israeli election also risks hardening positions and undermining the UK's objectives.
Board of Deputies expresses ‘deep regret’ at Government announcement of sanctions on settlement goods.

Calling Rep. Hakeem Jeffries an “AIPAC monkey” is both racist and antisemitic. Dehumanizing racial language combined with a classic antisemitic trope about supposed Jewish control is bigotry and it's unacceptable. Nothing justifies this hateful and disgusting comment. foxnews.com/media/democratic…

Thank you to the members of Congress on both sides of the aisle who have spoken out against Hasan Piker’s hateful, antisemitic rhetoric. As @JGreenblattADL said, “Piker appoints himself an authority on antisemitism, lecturing Jews about what is and isn’t antisemitic while blaming the Jewish community for the hatred directed against it.” We hope more elected officials will speak out. The silence from so many has already gone on far too long. nypost.com/2026/08/25/us-new…
