Today, the Permanent Secretary @PsEnvironment Bingwa Fidèle officially launched the 2026–2027 tree planting season during a Community Work (Umuganda) held in Gahanga Sector, Kicukiro District, in Mulinja Cell. This year’s theme, “𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞, 𝐌𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲". The tree planting and forest season will continue across all districts of the country. This year, 100 million trees will be planted including trees for production forests, agroforestry, indigenous tree species and fruit trees.

Today, Minister @Dr_Arakwiye hosted a Ministerial Breakfast at #MOP38 under the Friends of the Kigali Amendment, marking the 10th anniversary of the Amendment and bringing together Ministers and partners to renew commitment to its implementation. Led by Rwanda, alongside Brazil and the United Kingdom as government co-champions, the initiative seeks to strengthen political ambition, support national implementation, expand access to efficient and affordable cooling, and accelerate the Amendment’s climate and development benefits.

Rwanda’s Minister of Environment, @Dr_Arakwiye , has been elected President of the 38th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol (#MOP38), marking an important moment for Rwanda’s leadership in advancing global environmental action.
