May The United Methodist Church repent of its recent decisions that are both unfaithful to the love of Christ Jesus and are splitting the church. The UMC’s behaviour is sinful — no matter what one thinks of LGBTQIA.

Using the blunt force of church law against sisters and brothers — instead of love, kindness, and prayer — is also indicative of spiritual cowardice. Does God need us to resort to un-Godly methods to ‘win’ in a theological conflict? The answer is no.

The sins of lovelessness and pride are the Traditional Plan of the Evil One. Christ’s command is to love one another. Those who do not do this bring shame upon themselves and upon the church.

Justice is founded upon compassion and mercy. That which purports to be justice and does not stand upon these is simply a lie to cover cruelty and violence.
