Counselling isn't only for "big problems"🌱
Many of us think counselling is only for people in crisis. But often it's the quieter things that weigh on us most:
• Feeling dissatisfied, however much you achieve
• Feeling you're never quite "enough"
• Getting irritable or short-tempered with your spouse or children, and feeling guilty afterwards
• Losing excitement for things you used to enjoy
• Constant stress, overthinking or feeling overwhelmed
• Patterns from your upbringing that still shape how you feel and react today
• Grief, loneliness, or tension in your marriage or family
• Struggling to feel close to Allah
The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught that Allah has not sent down any illness without also sending down its cure. Seeking help for the heart and mind is not a sign of weak iman. It's taking the means, just as we would for the body.
Our counsellors are Muslims who understand both psychology and Islam. Sessions are confidential, and you don't need to be "in crisis" to benefit from one. Sometimes just understanding *why* we feel the way we do brings real relief.

May Allah grant us all hearts that are at peace.
Saving our families from Jahannam requires more than our own worship. We must create an environment where our children are nurtured upon obedience to Allah Most High.

🏡✨ HOME OF HEAVEN (6 Week Course) ✨🏡
Allah says He made our homes a place of sakīnah, of rest and tranquillity. 🤍
But be honest… is that what your home feels like?
For so many of us, home is the most stressful place we go. Raised voices. Slammed doors. Everyone on their phones in separate rooms. Tension that never quite goes away. We walk in the door and brace ourselves instead of breathing out.
Now imagine coming home to peace. A home where there’s warmth instead of tension, where your family actually enjoy being together, where the deen feels alive and Allah’s mercy fills the rooms.
A home that feels like a little piece of Jannah.
What would you give for that?
That’s exactly what Home of Heaven is about. A 6-week course with Mufti Zubair Patel & Mawlana Muaaz Vahora, packed with practical steps to start changing your home environment from the very first week.
👨👩👧👦 Just £25 per household, not per person
Around £4 a week for your whole family.
📅 Starts Sunday 18th October, 12:10–1:00pm
💻 Live & interactive on Zoom

The good life isn’t luxury, fine clothes, food, or spouses.
Allah gives those even to people who reject Him.
The good life is a heart gathered on ONE goal: the pleasure of Allah. 🤍
One focus. Everything aimed at His love and closeness.
(Life with Allah)
A single argument can fill a whole home with smoke.
Be the hand that opens the window, not the mouth that feeds the fire.

You can tell a lot about a person by how they treat people who can do nothing for them.
How they speak to the waiter.
How they treat the cleaner.
How they behave when there's nothing to gain.
A big house doesn't make you a big person.
Money can buy status. It can't buy character.
Your wealth is what you own. Your worth is how you treat people.

*Your most important project* 🌱
_"Every project can be made up for if it fails, except raising your children. If that fails, you taste its bitter fruit for the rest of your life. Your child is the most important project in your life."_
(Dr. Tarik)
We plan our careers, our businesses and our finances with great care. Our children deserve at least the same intention, time and effort.
💭 What is one thing you can do today to invest in your child?
With a word a marriage begins. With a word a marriage ends. With a word paradise is gained. With a word hellfire is warranted. With a word Islam is accepted. With a word disbelief can ensue. With a word a war begins. With a word a war ends. With a word a heart is fufilled. With a word a heart is broken.
Be careful how you use your words, they hold a lot of weight.
(Ashraf Dabous)
People see the best version of us, yet may hate us.
Allah sees the worst version of us, and yet still loves us.

Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) said to Allah:
"O my Lord, people are saying things about me which are not true."
So Allah revealed to him:
"O Musa, I did not make that privilege for Myself, so how can I make it for you?"
(Al-Adab al-Shar’iyyah, Ibn Muflih)
Why do we want our mothers when we're ill?
You can be 45. Married. With children of your own.
And the moment a fever puts you in bed, some part of you still wants your mum.
Why?
Because she was your first experience of safety.
Before you could speak, your body learned:
“When I am hurting, she comes.”
Illness makes us dependent again.
For a moment, we're not the ones caring for everyone else.
We're the child again.
And perhaps that's why a mother's care feels different.
Your spouse needs you too.
Your children need you.
You spend much of your life being strong for others.
But with your mother, you were allowed to simply receive.
No performance.
No responsibility.
Just care.
Allah reminds us:
“His mother carried him, in weakness upon weakness.”
— Qur'an 31:14
And when the Prophet ﷺ was asked who deserved the best companionship, he said:
“Your mother.”
“Then who?”
“Your mother.”
“Then who?”
“Your mother.”
“Then who?”
“Your father.”
— Bukhari
That ache for your mother when you're sick isn't childish.
It's the memory of a mercy you received before you could even remember it.
If your mother is alive, call her.
If she has returned to Allah, make du'a for her.
رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
“My Lord, have mercy upon them as they raised me when I was small.”
— Qur'an 17:24
If you say 'yes' to something, follow through - for 'yes' to noble men's a debt that's due.
If not, say 'no': relieve the both of you, lest you become a liar in men's view.
(Imam al-Shafii)
Sometimes people don’t need your advice. They need your attention.
Many of us think we are listening, but while someone is speaking we are already preparing our reply, judging what they said, or thinking of a solution.
Real listening means being curious.
Instead of immediately saying, “Here’s what you should do…” ask:
“What has been the hardest part for you?”
Don’t interrupt.
Don’t turn their story into your story.
Don’t rush to fill every silence.
And don’t assume you already know what your spouse, child or friend is going to say.
Sometimes the deepest part of a conversation comes after the pause.
And remember: understanding someone does not mean agreeing with them.
Many family conflicts become worse because both people desperately want to be understood, while neither person is truly listening.
Be more interested in understanding than in being understood.
Strong families are built not only through better speaking, but through better listening.

Imam Yunus ibn ‘Ubayd said,
“If two things are fixed in a person, everything else will be fixed: his prayer and his tongue.”
Prayer is what is between you and Allah, and what you say is what is between you and the people.
(Tarikh al-Islam)
Sometimes, the charity is simply to stop harming people.
Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) about the best deeds. After mentioning faith, striving in Allah’s cause, freeing slaves and helping others, Abu Dharr asked:
“What if I am unable to do some of these things?”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied:
“Then withhold your harm from people, for that is a charity from you to yourself.” [Bukhari]
Refraining from harming people is itself an act of worship.
If you cannot benefit someone, at least do not harm them.
If you cannot encourage something good, do not mock it.
Do not call the practising Muslim “extreme” because they take their religion seriously.
Do not call the honest employee naive because they refuse to cheat.
Do not call the child who honours their parents weak.
Do not say a woman who respects her husband has “no personality”, nor ridicule a man for treating his wife with kindness and respect.
Sometimes we become so accustomed to unhealthy behaviour that goodness begins to look strange to us.
Before commenting on someone, mocking them, belittling their choices or making their life more difficult, remember:
Sometimes your charity for the day may simply be to leave them unharmed.
