Exactly a year ago, @aquariusacquah asked to grab coffee at a small café in Hayes Valley, San Francisco, while I was visiting town. It was the week of Halloween, children were running around SF, and the city was flourishing.
He said, “Today’s my last day at work. I want to start something of my own.” Then he added, “They say, talk to your smartest friends — so that’s why I’m talking to you.”
The year since has flown by. In January, I moved to SF. February, we got into @ycombinator. March, we incorporated @joinkaizen. April, we started YC. May, we raised our seed from @8vc.
Over the past six months, we’ve made incredible progress. @joinkaizen is deployed across public companies, healthcare organizations with 1,000 clinicians, and vertical software juggernauts like @tryaugie and @assort_health.
In the last month, we’ve 4x’ed the workflows executed on the platform and we’re only just getting started.
Today, we’re incredibly excited to open @joinkaizen to the public. We can’t wait to see what you’ll never have to do again.
P.S. We're hiring! Send me a note if you or someone you know would like to join our incredible team — working alongside @conorxmccormack, @nmfaulkner_, @_niksrc, @aquariusacquah, and I.
Humans invented software to free ourselves from manual work.
Somehow, we still waste billions of hours clicking across websites.
Today, @joinkaizen launches to fulfill that original promise.
Announcing our $4M raise from @8VC and the public launch of the Kaizen platform.
Departing from tech for an important Italian announcement.
Rezdora and all fine dining pasta is an insult to Nonnas globally.
6 pieces of gnocchi is a joke. Pasta should be big, full of love, and leave you feeling whole.
This is total dining bullshit.
Sincerely,
This might alarm a lot of people, but the quality of Italian food I’ve been having in NYC has been better than 90% of the meals I ate in Italy.
This meal at Rezdora was incredible, and the chef worked under Massimo Bottura. Some of the best pastas and maybe best pork chop in NYC.
This cuisine is from the Emilia Romagna region, where I spent 2 weeks this summer in Italy. This was better than almost anything I tried there.
Maria is single handedly one of the most helpful investors on our cap table. A true privilege to work together.
I'm excited to launch Relational Capital, a $50m solo GP fund.
I spent the last 8 years as a founder, building @usekojo into the largest US construction procurement platform.
Now I'm backing founders at the earliest stages with $1m-$5m checks.
An abundant future lies ahead 🇺🇸
Disgrace. @ZohranKMamdani and others push a warped rewriting of history when calling the response to Oct 7 a genocide. Hamas broke into Israel, murdered about 1,200 people, burned families alive, raped women, and dragged hostages back into Gaza. The war that followed was a response to that massacre, not some plan to wipe Gazans off the map.
About 74,000 dead is roughly 3.5% of Gaza’s 2.1 million people. The Holocaust killed about 63% of Europe’s Jews. The Armenian genocide killed on the order of 50–75% of Ottoman Armenians. Rwanda killed about 60–80% of Tutsis in 100 days. If a military as capable as the IDF, fighting in a place as exposed as Gaza, had set out to destroy a people, the toll would be unrecognizable next to those numbers.
The IDF roof-knocks, drops leaflets, sends texts and phone calls, and tells people where to go before strikes. Nobody trying to erase a population hands them a warning and a way out. Civilians die in awful numbers when militants fight from inside cities, and that loss is devastating. It still is not genocide.
This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss.
The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes.
Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment.
To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.

Today at Refresh we're proud to release our first public benchmark, BBv1.
We talked to animation experts who did the 3D modeling for harry potter, and realized that so many of the capabilities of the LLMs were still lacking.
Verifiers include VLM as a judge, along with geometry!
If interested in 3D animation evals, DMs open!
The @cognition mascot in a kippah is chefs kiss 👌
@FarroYossi is literally unlocking new levels of mitzvahs — mazal tov to everyone involved 😆
Wrapped the Jews at @cognition today.
Cognition is the fastest-growing startup of all time, and thank God, I’ve had a front-row seat to the growth.
Five months ago, I was invited by the Cognition team in New York for a kosher lunch and a Tefillin wrap.
At the time, the company was valued at $10 BILLION.
Today, I visited their headquarters in San Francisco.
Following last week’s $2 BILLION fundraise, Cognition is now valued at $48 BILLION.
And it’s not for no reason.
They have an incredible team — and they’re doing a lot of mitzvahs.
Just a few weeks ago, Cognition hosted one of the largest Shabbats in Silicon Valley, organized by @sdanielpour.
And so many of my friends and Tefillin alumni have recently joined the company, including @artlevy & @imjaredz.
May the mitzvahs we did today continue bringing blessings to Cognition as they march toward $1 TRILLION.
Thank you, @Max18Martin, for starting this trend and being a true trailblazer.
Everyone needs to fucking wake up.
China is about to lap the USA on energy, datacenters, AI, robotics, and defense tech.
Your children will be living under a communist regime and speaking Chinese.
Stop protesting and regulating. We need a Manhattan Project to save America.
We’ve been @trycardinalai customers for almost a year now, backbone of our sales.
@DevishiJha and @jianna_liu are incredible founders, keep an eye on this one✨
Congrats on the launch!
As products get faster to build, go-to-market becomes the advantage.
The teams that experiment, iterate, and discover new ways to sell will win.
Today, we're launching Cardinal - the AI Revenue Platform where companies like Deepgram, Giga, and Mintlify design how they sell.
Tell Cardinal the play:
→ "If someone gets promoted, send them a cake."
→ "If a prospect publishes a new engineering blog, email them with my take."
→ "Follow up with people who used my product in the first week but dropped off."
Design how you sell.
This is Mamdani’s New York.
Jewish Synagogues across the country employ armed guards. Every Shabbat I go through TSA style metal detectors.
My family came to this country to flee antisemitism. Now it’s a rampant threat even in used-to-be safe havens like NYC.
The Jewish man stabbed outside a synagogue on the Upper West Side of Manhattan yesterday has been identified as Moshe Grunhaus.
According to multiple sources, Moshe was in the process of moving from New York to Florida, possibly "at least in part due to frustrations about Mamdani."

Basically average day as a founder
Erling Haaland, Norway’s large, maniacal striker, has several exceedingly Norwegian traits. He sometimes exercises by chopping wood in the forest. He consumes 6,000 calories a day. After training sessions, he drinks raw milk. He owns a tax-sheltered investment company in Luxembourg named Pillage. He bought an edition of the “Heimskringla,” a 13th-century Old Norse saga, for $130,000—then donated it to his local library because, he explained, “I’ve never been much of a reader.” He has flowing blond hair, often compared to a Viking’s. He brings the intensity of a raiding party to the sport. Haaland scores goals at a higher rate than almost any soccer player ever. He has said, “I think of football all the time.” His wake-up alarm plays the theme song for the Champions League. He once posted a photo of himself on a plane, staring ahead intensely, with the caption “Just raw dogged a 7 hour flight no phone no sleep no water no food only map.” The Guardian once called him a “ravenous Nordic goal-yeti.”
Haaland’s style of play elicits not wonder but terror. He is enormous: six feet five, 200 pounds, about the size and speed of the N.F.L. wide receiver Randy Moss. “Watching him, I sometimes find myself giggling as I might over a big, obscene crash at a demolition derby,” Zach Helfand writes. Great to be in good company with my investor @JTLonsdale
Just wrapped Tefillin with @michael_silver for the first time in his life.
Michael founded @joinkaizen, an AI startup backed by @JTLonsdale’s 8VC that’s quietly transforming healthcare.
Think Claude Cowork for healthcare back offices.
The infrastructure layer that KKR & Goldman’s portfolio companies actually run on.

“Managing loops” is not the solve for achieving anything serious with AI.
The gap between “yet another desktop assistant” and “replacing entire departments” is so much wider than most imagine. The former requires a model. The latter requires an entirely different ecosystem of primitives: high-volume task orchestration, efficient model routing, fine-grained agent permissions, scaled observability, evaluation, and institutional knowledge management.
Achieving stable returns from $1T in capex will require continuous iteration on a lot more than just “an agent in a loop". It'll hinge on trench work done at the application layer scaling human capital to achieve infinite potential.
Just download more RAM. Just replicate to one more server. Kubernetesmaxxx bro.
6 more TBs to the DB. 3 more read replicas. It’s gonna be ok bro.
Just one more microservice will do the trick. All you need is a little PgBouncer. One more gateway and we’re good.
I love infra
