This might be OK at 3 or 3 1/2 storeys on an RS lot but it is most definitely not OK at 6 storeys. Along an arterial. Yes. But as a multiplex. Absolutely not.
This is Vancouver's very first proposal to build a low-rise, multi-unit residential building on a small single-family lot under the new single-staircase building rules. A 6-storey, wood-frame building with 24 family-sized units. #vanre #vanpoli dailyhive.com/vancouver/2150…

Listening to @Lucyincanada discussing the Villages Plan with @JasJohalBC. While I agree with her desire for more housing choices, unfortunately she completely misunderstands what was wrong with the plan; namely the proposal to create 17 new highstreets & absurd implementation strategy .

At @udibc to hear top notch panel comprising Vancouver's Josh White, Coquitlam Andrew Merill, Burnaby's Johannes Shumann and moderator Tracey McCrae from @TheAnthemWay. "No one can live in an approval.

Hoping there will be some community support for this innovative, affordable North Vancouver project that encourages buyers to invest in a home rather than a car! engage.zencity.io/dnv/en-US/…

Since both @TheCurrentCBC and @CKNW @MikeSmythNews were discussing dismal condominium markets this morning, I thought I'd offer some thoughts on what's gone wrong and what needs to be done. gellersworldtravel.blogspot.…

Why is the condo market dead? There's no doubt that municipal fees are adding to costs. But that's not the main reason. A key reason is that presale programs no longer make any sense. It's time for lenders to relax their requirements. Otherwise.... connectcre.ca/stories/condo-…

Ok but why is it $900 cheaper to drive down to Seattle and fly to Australia via Vancouver vs. skipping the first flight and going directly from Vancouver?! Genuinely curious — this makes no sense.

The 2026 BC Assessments are now online. Some are up, some are down. Some are down a lot. Dunsmuir House, for which I launched a third-party appeal last year (the value tripled) came down 19%. The nearby Bay Parkade came down 26%. The Bay store came down 12%. You can check your own properties at BCAssessment. ca

I thought Generation Squeeze's Paul Kershaw and other young people hoping to purchase a home would appreciate this response to my latest Vancouver Sun column
