LAIKA's #Wildwood, now in theaters, is a reminder of the magic and terror of the classic fantasy stories you may have grown up with, recaptured on a breathtaking scale. It’s among the best animated films in recent memory.

unclear exactly what this entails at the moment, but i'm very heartened that a major american film distributor is *finally* willing to put its name on a movie that directly confronts the genocide in Gaza.

The thing I admire about Zuko and Azula's Agni Kai is the fact that the score isn't triumphant or epic. It's sad, mournful and tragic.
18 years later, and the Agni Kai between Zuko and Azula still looks like it was animated yesterday. Let that sink in. 😭🔥
The animation, the choreography, the music, the colors, the emotions. Everything was perfect.
Avatar really gave us one of the most cinematic fights in animation history. 7H do cook too 🤲

The billionaire class is about to loot your paycheck, bank account & everything/anything you own because you dared to better yourself by receiving a higher education. Trump & Linda McMahon will lead the charge. Their media will tell you to blame immigrants.

If this were Iran, or another "enemy" country, it would be the top story in every news outlet on the planet.
#Breaking: European diplomats, including French and Polish representatives, who went to the West Bank to observe the olive harvest, have been violently assaulted by Israeli settlers.
YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING now in theaters! One of the most interesting films of the year. Full review: chicanofilmshelf.com/post/yo…

First trailer for ‘THE EYES OF GHANA’, the first-ever film produced by IShowSpeed.
The documentary follows Ghanaian cinematographer Chris Hesse who attempts to rescue more than 1,000 films capturing Africa’s fight for independence in the 1950s & ’60s.

This movie is two long action sequences with a monologue about diarrhea in the middle. Ten stars. Never seen anything like it!

It's darkly funny that Nicholas Ray confirmed every name Elia Kazan outed to HUAC, yet Kazan’s legacy is (rightfully) pissed on every day while Ray gets to be the cool dude with an eye patch who directed Johnny Guitar. Cool Privilege is so real.

Any anonymous exec saying ARTIFICIAL was “unreleasable” was lying through their fake fucking teeth and carrying water for their sleazebag A.I. overlords.
Luca Guadagnino’s “Artificial,” a movie about the evils of AI and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, is earning rave reviews, raising questions about Amazon’s decision to drop the movie and whether its own AI investments played a role.
One creative team member on an Amazon MGM series tells Variety that AI training is a requirement on the lot these days. The source describes a “mandatory and perfunctory meeting” with the company’s AI team, billed as standard workplace education. The AI group spent an hour pitching the creatives on a suite of products it referred to as “tools.”
Meanwhile, Nicolas Cage revealed that he refused to sign a document permitting Amazon to use AI in and around his likeness on his now-canceled series “Spider-Noir”: “I am not an AI-friendly actor. I’m not a member of their club,” he said.
As one film executive at a rival studio put it: “A reaction this strong just shows you, every studio pretending the film wasn’t releasable is just conflicted out by their own investments in AI.”
