For my video this week I checked out the set up for Ironman Lanzarote. Big changes this year.

Not sure anyone still sees my tweets. But if you do, I’m here now. bsky.app/profile/lanzarotein…
Taking a break from Twitter. I have a huge respect for how @elonmusk has disrupted the motor industry, which I worked in for the 1st half of my life. But he’s making a real mess of this place. Exactly 14 years after I joined, I’m leaving. For now.
Bought a new backpack style weed killer sprayer this morning, as the old one is falling apart. I so wanted the electric one, but at more than double the price, I’ve stuck with a manual pump. Proud and sad at the same time. – at Haría, España
If only I needed to write a dissertation on confirmation bias. Sooooo much material reading the Tweets and replies on the Harry & Meghan documentary. – at Haría, España
Car 35/54. I needed something fast and spacious for our annual trip to Le Mans, so I opted for a Sharan VR6, fully loaded. Of all the cars I ran while at VW, this was the one I heard “Can I borrow your car for the weekend, Mike?” the most.
Car 34/54. One of the first “new” Beetles in the UK, a left hand drive auto version, some time before RHD production started. Attracted more looks than any other car I had, but not really my cup of tea.
Long standing family tradition that we drink Egg Nog while putting up the decorations. The more I drink, the more I feel we should have Bublé on. Thoughts?
Stunning pics of the island from a motoring journey, who’s over here doing the Audi Q8 press launch.

Like these, for example, from the Mirador del Rio and the top of Timanfaya National Park. (2/3)
Car 33/54. With a shortage of Mk 4 Golfs available, I went for a Bora VR6 Automatic next. Mine had every single option available and I suspect was the most expensive Bora ever made - someone ended up with a used bargain.
Here’s your challenge. How many days can you get into December before you hear Slade’s Christmas song? Reply to this tweet the first time you hear it.
Car 32/54, Next up was a Golf VR6, which I totally loved - putting that V6 engine into a compact hatch was stroke of genius. Nicely torquey for 6, but butter smooth.
