Back at the piano, back on The Sun Rose stage. @jakewrogers and I return for two intimate evenings of Bowie’s Piano Man.
We first played together there four years ago, and after reuniting for January’s sold-out Bowie Birthday celebration, we’re back together again next weekend for two nights up close at The Sun Rose.
Limited tickets available. Send this to the person you’re bringing, pick your night, and book your seats at liveatthesunrose.com.
I’m heartbroken to hear of the passing of Sass Jordan.
Sass and I had the joy of working together on our A Bowie Celebration tours. She was an extraordinary singer, but what I remember just as much was the person behind that unmistakable voice.
She had a great heart, a wonderful spirit, an incredible feel for the music, and a wicked sense of humor. She was an absolute joy to work with, both onstage and off.
When Sass joined us, she said that performing Bowie’s music every night felt like “playing a love letter to his memory.” \It was an honor to share those nights and that music with her.
My deepest condolences to her family, friends, fellow musicians, and everyone who loved her.
Sass was one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed.

Had no idea about this part of the history of Chaplin's studios; where SP just recently recorded a new song with @butchvig
And for some other context, I worked at A+M (now Chaplin Studios) with Tony lommi and Kenny Aronoff on Tony's first solo album, and on the Stigmata soundtrack with Mike Garson @tonyiommi @mikegarson @AronoffOFFICIAL
(Perry Mason Studios once occupied the original Charlie Chaplin located at 1416 N. La Brea Avenue in Hollywood)
I’m thrilled to be back at The Sun Rose with @jakewrogers on October 23 and 24. Two evenings together, sharing music in a room that's given us so many special moments. I’d love to see you there. Tickets are on sale now at eventim.us/wafform.aspx?_act…

Life On Mars ✨ David Bowie,
with Mike Garson on piano
David Bowie took the stage in 2000 at the famous Glastonbury in order to perform a classic of himself, Life On Mars.
It's been 24 years since this live performance took place and it still gives goosebumps to everyone who listens and watches David Bowie onstage.

Aladdin Sane was released 53 years ago today, and it still feels like yesterday.
I didn’t fully understand what David had in mind when I walked into that session in 1973. He had this ability to hear something in you and place it exactly where it belonged.
When we were recording the title track, I first approached it in more conventional styles. David stopped me and asked for the avant-garde side of my playing, the part that didn’t fit the standard rock piano vocabulary.
I wasn’t sure how people would take it. He told me not to worry about that. He gave me the freedom to play.
That was one of his great gifts. He let artists bring their full voice into the music without constraint, and somehow made it feel inevitable.
So when people talk about that solo, I don’t just hear a piano part. I hear David recognizing something before anyone else did, and giving it the space to exist.
For me, Aladdin Sane is one of the clearest examples of Bowie as an artist, a producer, and a truly fearless creative mind.
I’d love to hear what this album means to you after all these years. Favorite tracks, memories, or moments that still stay with you...

Dublin has always meant a lot to me, and I’m looking forward to returning for the @dublinbowiefest, February 24 through March 1.
The alumni concerts that week are already sold out, but there are still a few seats available for our February 26 evening in conversation with Gerry Leonard, Earl Slick, and Mark Plati.
On March 1, I’ll be diving into the piano work behind many of David’s songs and sharing some of the stories and musical choices that shaped them.
Would love to see you there. Tickets at the link in my bio…

Amazing night! And so many great artists to share the stage with. All in tribute to Mike’s promethean musical life and 80 trips around the Sun and of course David’s incredible songs and legacy.

Some nights become more than a show. They turn into shared moments, where the listening deepens and the energy moves both ways. You can feel it at The Sun Rose. Everyone part of the same breath.
This is why live music still matters. I’m grateful for the musicians, the crew, the audience, and the spirit that carried us through magical nights together…

Ten years. And yet he’s never really absent.
David lived in curiosity and courage. I still feel him when I sit at the piano.
His spirit lives on in the music, challenging us to listen harder, think deeper, and never settle for the obvious.
What we shared went beyond notes and performances. I’m grateful every day for the time, his trust, and the music.
Thank you, David.
