Absolutely! I grew up watching Prefontaine and he would never back down on giving his opinion after a race, and that's what made me like him even more. He would call out tactics from other runners many times during his career. He didn't like others drafting off his pace

Podcast coming soon! @milesplit Stop training high school athletes like professionals. Professionals train to maximize performance. High school coaches should develop people. A PR means very little if the athlete hates the sport, is burned out, and quits by graduation. Develop the athlete. Protect the kid. The performance will follow.

Our previous tweet has led us down a rabbithole. We compared every single event and the number of high school athletes hitting the same elite benchmarks in 2019 vs. 2026. The weird part? It almost completely disappears in the field events. 🧵

The kids have so much more access than we had and are training much harder. The newer shoes also help a lot for athletes with weaker ankles.
