People shouldn't go to jail because of hate speech laws.
People should go to jail for creating hate speech laws.

I had the chance to sit down with @billottman founder of Minds, who’s on a mission to give control of the internet back to the people. In this episode, we talk free speech, privacy, and building a better future online.
Speech has been a big issue in our country over the last decade. Regardless of which side of the aisle you sit on, I think we all agree we should control our own digital self.

The world has been tricked into thinking misinformation is more dangerous than censorship.
This is very convenient for dictators.

Banned words just morph into new words.
Any social media app that blanket bans words is dumping fuel on the fire of global dialogue.
They aren't creating safe spaces, they are creating fake spaces devoid of context and social commentary.
That is more dangerous than bad words.

'The claim "hate speech is not free speech" implies "free" is a type of speech, as opposed to how speech is treated in a free society.'

This was a big win that should have gotten more coverage. The Babylon Bee (along with Minds and Tim Pool) had sued California over this law, too. Great to see that X was able to notch a victory here.
Today, a bipartisan panel of judges unanimously ruled in favor of X and against a California law that seeks to regulate speech on social media platforms.
This is not just a victory for our platform, but also for free speech nationwide.
Whether in the United States or around the world, X will always fight for free speech and against government efforts to restrict people's right to express themselves.
