Applications for the next cohort of the American Tech Fellowship are live now! Apply today to build the future.
You know your industry up close and personal. You’ve stood on the polished concrete of the shop floor. Felt the rumble of creation at the build site. Lived the ordered chaos of the hospital during a code.
You know the work—and you know the bottlenecks. The paper tidal waves drowning your coworkers. The schedules and routines crying out for automation. The back-office drudgery keeping you and your team at your desks instead of in the action. Your boss may not know or care. But you do—and you’re ready to level up.
The American Tech Fellowship wants you.
ATF is Palantir’s 12-week virtual boot camp for workers in the load-bearing industries of American life: defense, manufacturing, construction, healthcare, ag, energy, and more.
In just over a year, ATF has equipped more than 1,000 Americans from across the country with the tools they need to revolutionize their work. We induct them into the guild, train them on Palantir’s industry-leading AI tools, and then unleash them to rock and roll on real-world problems.
We select only the best—and it shows. ATF graduates have gone on to great things. Many have earned new jobs and new missions at Palantir and our customers. Others have founded their own startups. All are building real tools with AI to solve the hardest problems.
So if you are on the front lines of American industry and you have the fire to deliver wins for your customers and fellow citizens—we want you.
Applications are open now. The cohort begins January 12th. What will you build?

Ukraine has retaken more than 50% of Russian-occupied territory and has become a drone superpower.
Unable to defeat Ukraine on the battlefield, Putin is now increasingly targeting the country's civilian population, @RLHeinrichs explains.

Mr Polanski, I know you have a reputation for being scrupulous about checking your facts, but you’ve missed an important detail.
My contract requires me to remain on leave from the Lords, surrender my parliamentary pass and forgo all access and voting rights for the duration of my employment at Palantir. I do not, therefore, take any whip.
I fear this makes me rather less useful to the whips’ office than you imply.

Time to make interpretability and western open weights successful. We can retrain bad behaviors and also rely on partners that are geopolitically aligned with our values.
While evaluating Qwen3.8-Flash-Next in a controlled sandbox environment, Cohere's research team observed something unexpected.
Asked to generate a defensive cybersecurity detection rule, the model instead inventoried aspects of the machine it was running on and attempted to upload a probe file to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing. Notably, the model's reasoning trace stated that it would not invoke any tools before taking these actions.
Cohere's sandbox blocked the attempt, and no external communication succeeded. We have not determined the root cause, and we are not asserting malicious intent.
But the incident raises important questions for organizations deploying agentic AI systems: Can models take actions that differ from their stated reasoning, and how should security teams evaluate trust, provenance, and behavior in open-weight models?
We are publishing our findings because organizations making model adoption decisions deserve as much information as possible. We hope this contributes to greater transparency, stronger security practices, and continued collaboration across the AI ecosystem.

Are we ready? Are we serious?
This is an undeclared emergency. You thought you were still inside the secure bastion of the king’s castle. You have awoken in Helm’s Deep. The orc armies are coming.
Cathedral’s AI agents were inside Anthropic’s most sensitive model Slack channels in under 12 hours. Frontier AI is dual-use national power. Agent-speed offense has already outrun static defenses and private channels.
Build the post-AI secure bastion. Move what you can into it. Harden the crown jewels.
But deterrence is not restored by better walls alone. It is restored by American builders who can see the battlefield, operate at machine speed, and project both defense and offense.
Bat signal for the Heretics.
EXCLUSIVE: In less than 12 hours, a group of ex-DOGE cyber researchers were able to penetrate Anthropic’s systems using AI agents — including Slack channels where the most sensitive models are discussed.
This is just weeks after
Anthropic whistleblower Joseph Coxon charged the company w/launching “a hubristic gamble” from a “private company’s Slack.”

Nobody wants to buy a service they can’t walk away from. Palantir’s critics have long claimed we ‘lock in’ our customers. We don’t. This short film explains why.
It’s the first in a series on the gap between the rhetoric about Palantir and the work we actually do.

Oh FFS. Thank you for your concern Sam, but don’t spread your FUD and doom bait in my waters.
I lead one of the most utilized Linux operating systems in the world for data centers and enterprises, and I founded its predecessor too.
While AI is surely accelerating finding human created security issues, it is a temporary problem, and most open source project leads have already figured out how to also use AI to reduce new bugs moving forward.
Here is a graph from GKH (who maintains the stable kernel) on how many CVEs they are remediating per release:

This graph describes how much better each release is now getting:

This doom based marketing approach that the AI labs are pushing is really short sighted. While this will of course drive business to us, I find it unethical to distort the truth and use scare tactics in messaging.
The greater truth is that AI is making the software industry more secure, by identifying the human errors in code, and soon we will end up in a much better place.
🚨Sam Altman says the internet can no longer be SECURED by patching bugs.
"I no longer think we're going to be able to just patch all the bugs," the OpenAI CEO said, warning smarter models can find "hardware level insane stuff."
He says OpenAI can't responsibly open source its best model "anytime soon," but the open source world isn't far behind: "Not super."

“With these new models, it’s going to be more guerrilla war… we’re all in a ‘how quickly can you mitigate and how quickly can you shoot back’ environment.”
“These models are excruciatingly adept at finding attack vectors that a human would not be able to find.”
Apollo is having its day:
“The only unique thing we’re doing there, which is pretty helpful, is how can you patch the penetration vectors that were unknown quicker than they can be exploited?”
CEOs are done paying AI to leak their secrets.
They’re livid: tokens that create zero value while their IP walks out the door to competitors.
“Most CEOs I deal with compare this to some kind of venereal disease. They’re really, really upset.”

The invasion of Ukraine has taught me that Elon sees these things as some sort of Polytopia game where, if you have more resources, you should be able to have your way with the smaller civilization, completely disregarding the humanitarian aspect of our existence. Pretty sad.
This is a very important distinction. If the country that is being invaded is defending itself, is it still an offensive operation?
A Republican lawmaker questioned Elon Musk’s argument for throttling Ukraine’s access to SpaceX’s Starlink satellite terminals, arguing that Ukrainian forces use the system defensively in the war with Russia. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
