What can we expect from the Lithium Market in 2025? 6 Part 🧵 1/#Lithium demand to grow by 26% in 2025. •Demand to increase 26% (from 2024) to 1.46 million tonnes LCE in 2025. •The Chinese #EV market will remain the no.1 driver of lithium demand. --> The industry should receive a boost from Beijing's 🇨🇳 Stimulus program aswell as ongoing incentives for mass #EV adoption. •Outside the #EV market, demand for Energy Storage Systems (ESS) is set to "surge" growing 45% year-on-year & contributing to 13% of total lithium demand.

China's 🇨🇳 Increasing Lithium Supply Continues In 2026. In October, China's lithium carbonate production recorded 117,000 tonnes. Up 2.7% month on month (MoM). In November, "China's domestic production schedules for lithium carbonate is expected to come in at 121,800 tonnes."@MysteelGlobal How much supply will they record in 2026? 🤔

To reach this level, China's heavy e-truck sales would have to increase 5x from current levels...nice...
"Robin Zeng, chief executive of Chinese battery maker @catl_official, which has launched a battery for trucks, has estimated that half of China’s truck fleet will be electric within three years — a trend gaining momentum from high diesel prices." ⚡️🔋 #alwaysbecharging #battchat

703,000 tonnes of LCE coming out of China 🇨🇳 in 2027? Global total of 2.75 million tonnes of LCE in 2027? Good to gauge perspectives in regards to supply coming out of Chinese domestic sources. Supply coming out of Zimbabwe in 2027 is a big question mark if the #lithium concentrate export ban takes effect in January. But a good visual nonetheless that breaks down the supply regions in China.

Today is Liontown's turn. The market hasn't reacted favourably to its September Quarter results. A soft quarter but I'm still backing the #lithium recovery. My take below 🧵 1/ $LTR September quarter is out. Liontown got an average US$1,966 a tonne for its lithium concentrate, up 5% from US$1,880 in June. Price is moving the right way, but lower output and higher costs made this a softer quarter. My take 👇

3/The underground is what I'm watching: record 4,021m of development (+21% QoQ), mining rate ~1.6Mtpa stepping to ~1.9Mtpa in Q2 FY27, and 2.8Mtpa by end FY27 still on track. FY27 guidance of 390–440 kdmt held.

4/ Cash fell to A$502m from A$561m after A$82m capex (expansion early works, Centenario farm-in) and the first Ford/LISP debt repayments. Still a solid base for the A$389m expansion to ~780ktpa. Soft quarter, but I'm still backing the lithium recovery. 💪

Phenomenal execution by $PLS in the September Quarter. Here is my summary of their Activities Report 🧵 1/ $PLS Sept quarter realised price came in at US$1,809/t (~SC5.2), down 14% from US$2,107/t in the June quarter (SC6-equivalent US$2,077/t vs US$2,415/t). No hiding the softer price, but for me the operating side of this #lithium quarterly is the real story

3/Balance sheet still strong: A$2,217M cash and A$1,277M net cash, even after a A$161M dividend. Cash margin from ops of A$392M. Growing volumes and cutting costs at these prices is exactly how I want a producer positioned for the recovery. Bring on P2000!

4/ What I'm Keeping an Eye Going forward 💪: P2000 FID (~2Mtpa, first ore Sept quarter CY29), FY27 capex guidance lifted to A$1,130–1,195M, the US$700M notes raise, a negative A$88M provisional pricing adjustment as at 26 Oct, and mid-stream first product now pushed to the Dec quarter.
