A large law firm has filed a petition to undermine trans rights. The same firm called me for 2 chats on LGBT rights for pride month. Seems their commitment to freedom expires every June. This is not the cab rank rule, it’s rank hypocrisy

Tweets like these can create false hope among people willing to risk detention, making them believe that someone will come looking for them if they are picked up. That’s a serious responsibility. Please be mindful of the expectations we create.

Not everyone claiming to help detainees is actually helping them. Beware of lawyers who provoke the police for social media clout. There are even reports of families being asked for money. The ones doing the real work are usually doing it quietly, pro bono.
