OPM succeeded bc they leaned in to genres that resonate most with filipinos. meanwhile, our film industry is still stuck milking loveteams instead of investing in and pushing stories beyond that formula. sure love team fans are willing to spend their money but thats abt it

sulsol lang din that might be what's underneath such statements: Film Festivals and grant giving bodies may not be the best representatives of what most understands as the "Film Industry" and this is where I think these sides have never met.
