"NYC is now doomed after electing Zohran Mamdani" in the past 48 hours, Zohran Mamdani:
- Secured the release of a Columbia student detained hours ago by ICE with one phone call to Donald Trump
- Cleared every single sidewalk and bike lane after 18 inches of snow and paid temp workers 4x the national minimum wage
- Hosting rental rip-off hearings across NYC to give tenants across the city a platform to air their grievances
We learned our lesson. This is EXACTLY what we voted for, actually.

Broadway's actors, musicians, and crew make New York the cultural capital of the world.
Their health care is on the line, and it's time for a fair deal that protects it.
Solidarity with @actors_equity and @Local_802_AFM as they fight for the care every worker deserves.

“Trump is using military forces to stop a protest — I want y'all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us.”

Attention, New Yorkers,
If you see a dead bird, please do not touch it.
Instead, report it here:

NEW: @NYCMayor and @NYCHealthCommr have provided an update on new measures to help limit the spread of bird flu, following recent cases of H5N1 detected in multiple birds at NYC parks and zoos.
Between the expense of paying folks to perform, and only one parade broadcast this year… Broadway lost out. I do think it’s interesting that there are quite a few Broadway performers participating in other ways (floats and non-show performances).
Thank you! I’m thrilled you enjoyed the show! Are you able to come back for any of the evening shows to see Alyssa? She’s wonderful!

Denver gave homeless people $1,000 a month, no strings attached. A year later:
*45% secured housing
*Taxpayers saved $590k because of fewer visits to the hospital, jail and shelters
*People used the money on groceries, rent, hygiene, clothes and transportation
*Mental health improved and they could spend more time with their kids and grandkids
Amazing what happens when you give people a chance
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The 45% figure is an average of all trial groups, not just the 1k/mo. The group that received only $50/month saw 43% find housing.
