$buttcoin #buttcoin
$Buttcoin is the OG Memecoin. I founded it in May 2011, when the price of Bitcoin was just $8.
That was two years before Jackson Palmer tweeted out a joke that eventually lead to the development of Dogecoin.
That was also 3 years before Satoshi’s email was hacked and the Bitcoin project page was defaced to say “Buttcoin”.
And 4 years before the creation of Ethereum and the birth of the true alt-coin ecosystem.
Buttcoin has been mentioned by several big players in crypto for over a decade. Had multiple articles written about us. We’ve been engrained in the culture forever.
The only Bitcoin meme with 15 years of history behind it.
So if you’re looking for a true “OG” meme and a community to be proud of, it doesn’t get any better than $Buttcoin
Many don’t realize how rare it is to have a token that’s based on an original IP with lore that’s not only backed by the creator, but they’re also bagworking alongside the community every day.
Theres only a handful of coins in this space that can claim that.
$Buttcoin can.
Buttcoin is the purest memecoin there is.
In 2011 crypto itself was the meta. It was small enough that “Buttcoin” was the meme for everything Bitcoin (and only Bitcoin because things like Dodge didn’t exist for another couple years.)
Tell anyone today you bought something called Buttcoin and they get it immediately. No further explanation necessary.
Simple. Clean. $Buttcoin
Fun fact: the FTC still owns the original domain of the blog Buttcoin.org. I tried to buy it earlier this year when it was set to expire but they renewed it.
Hey @FTC, please give me my domain back. I will gladly pay 10k $Buttcoin (which will be worth 1 BTC shortly)
$BUTTCOIN IP UPDATE!
Our Trademark application was APPROVED for public publication by the examining officer at the USPTO.
They found our claims were valid and now they get published for public review. This is a brief hold period all applications go through that allows anyone to file a legal dispute against the claim. I don’t anticipate any disputes at this stage since I have filed as the original creator.
Final stretch. Last bit of administrative hold until full IP rights secured.

Don’t let anything happening distract you from how strong $Buttcoin has been through this all
And IP is coming soon..
15 years ago Buttcoin was created as a parody of crypto itself. A blog, a twitter and a subreddit highlighting the humor and absurdity of upending the whole financial world.
Shorty after, the idea of turning the meme into a full fledged cryptocurrency was born. The technology didn’t exist yet, but in 2012 Buttcoin birthed the idea of the world’s first memecoin.
We know our first stop.
10,000 $Buttcoin = 1 BTC.
And then the real fun begins.
Let me make this clear.
I, Barry Oners, Creator, Owner, CEO, CFO, CTO and Hot Administrative Assistant of the ORIGINAL $Buttcoin meme have never given my personal blessing to ANY coin or token or anything trading off the Buttcoin name. Until now.
This is the only one that has ever gotten my explicit approval and the only one that WILL ever get my approval. Period.

I’ll give you an honest answer. Around the time lolcoin was popping off, I got approached by some folks who had a great idea for a coin and a community and wanted me to promote it. They said they would be fair and had good idea where everyone could share in the success.
I got ripped off and didn’t see a dime. Revoked access and never saw them again. No idea what happened after that.
Had some community members reach out with questions about IP, where we are in the process, the benefits, etc.
IP is still under review by the USPTO. This is a long process that I’ve known from the beginning would take several months and likely some necessary revisions. The USPTO deals with tens of thousand submissions per month and they have a 6 month+ backlog before even looking at your application. There’s nothing that can be done to make this process faster. We have an examiner assigned, they’re reviewing the application and I hope to know more in the next few weeks.
The application was reviewed, prepared and submitted by the respected @GivnerLaw law firm. They have experience in successful memecoin IP submissions. They are professionals and I stay in touch with them regularly.
The benefits for $Buttcoin are numerous. It gives us expanded legitimacy with crypto companies like CEX, it cements our claim as the “first memecoin” with an established first-use date of 2011 with the creator backing it, and allows us further opportunities for branding and merchandising.
It’s also really funny that Buttcoin is in an official government database.
One last note; you don’t get “IP secured” when you submit your application. I’ve seen other groups make some dubious claims with very short timelines and I want to reiterate this is a long, very rigorous process that takes time if you want it done right. And we’re doing it the right way.
Stay Clenched!

Here are some of the reasons I believe $BUTTCOIN has one of the strongest risk-to-reward opportunities in the crypto market right now.
1. The community existed long before the coin.
$BUTTCOIN is only about 7 months old as a cryptocurrency, but the community behind the name goes all the way back to 2011. The Reddit community has been around for years, discussing everything from serious crypto topics to crypto culture and jokes.
That is extremely unusual in crypto. Most projects launch a coin first and then try to manufacture a community around it. $BUTTCOIN is almost the opposite — the community and culture existed for years before the token ever launched.
The hardest part of creating a meme coin isn’t necessarily deploying the token. It’s creating a real culture and community that people actually care about. $BUTTCOIN already had that foundation.
Another interesting fact: the $BUTTCOIN Reddit community is more active than the Solana community on Reddit.
2. The concept is incredibly simple.
Anyone can understand the joke immediately.
You don’t need to understand complicated tokenomics, DeFi, AI, or some complicated technical narrative. It’s simply internet culture + crypto + history + humor.
That is exactly what makes a meme powerful. The strongest memes are usually concepts people understand within seconds.
3. $BUTTCOIN has spent roughly 7 months building a strong base.
The token has been accumulating for months and has repeatedly maintained a relatively strong base in the $8–12 million range.
Instead of being a coin that appeared yesterday and immediately pumped, there has been significant time for the market to establish holders, liquidity, and a community.
4. Awareness continues to expand.
The number of accounts on X and other platforms mentioning $BUTTCOIN continues to increase.
More importantly, it isn’t just random paid promotion. The project has genuine fans who repeatedly talk about it, create content around it, and spread the meme.
That organic attention is extremely valuable for a meme coin.
5. The developer has a unique history.
The developer isn’t someone who simply created a Reddit account last year and launched a token.
He started the Buttcoin community on Reddit in 2011, and his X account also dates back to 2011. He is the same individual who ultimately launched the $BUTTCOIN token roughly 7 months ago.
That creates a level of authenticity and continuity that is very difficult to manufacture.
6. The project is pursuing intellectual-property protection.
$BUTTCOIN has applied for IP protection covering the name, meme, artwork and related intellectual property, with the process moving through the system.
This is particularly interesting given the growing focus on IP and meme ownership within the Solana ecosystem. Solana itself recently highlighted the idea of an “IP season.”
If successful, having a recognizable and legally protected meme brand could become a significant advantage.
7. The interaction with major crypto personalities is notable.
The amount of interaction $BUTTCOIN has received from recognizable and influential names within crypto is something I find particularly interesting.
For a project this young, the level of attention from established crypto personalities is unusual and potentially very important if the community continues to grow.
My conclusion
When I put all of these factors together — the decade-plus history of the community, the simplicity of the meme, the existing culture, months of accumulation, growing social awareness, the developer’s authenticity, the IP strategy, and the attention from established crypto figures — I believe $BUTTCOIN has an unusually strong setup.
Obviously, nothing in crypto is guaranteed, and meme coins are extremely speculative.
But if you’re looking specifically for asymmetric risk/reward, I believe $BUTTCOIN deserves serious attention.
In my opinion, it has the ingredients of a meme that could become too 4 memes of all time.

$Buttcoin is #11 between Solana and Coinbase

1/ I’ve been going down a rabbit hole on $BUTTCOIN, and the more I look into it, the more I understand why this one feels different.
I think @buttcoin has a real shot at becoming a $1B meme. Let me explain why. 🧵
2/ First thing that got me interested:
$BUTTCOIN isn’t some meme created a few weeks ago.
The name goes all the way back to 2011. People were talking about $BUTTCOIN on BitcoinTalk when Bitcoin itself was still tiny.
That’s crazy when you really think about it.
3/ Then I started digging through the old history.
You find names like Gavin Andresen, Vitalik Buterin, Cobie, Roger Ver and Charlie Shrem connected to the old $BUTTCOIN culture.
I’m NOT saying any of them support the current Solana token.
I’m saying they were around the original $BUTTCOIN meme.
That history matters.
4/ Gavin Andresen was one of the biggest names in early Bitcoin development, and there was already a $BUTTCOIN interaction back in 2012.
Vitalik Buterin interacted with or referenced $BUTTCOIN years ago.
Cobie even joked that getting retweeted by $BUTTCOIN was the highlight of his career.
This isn’t some story invented yesterday.
5/ And here’s the part that really got me:
I’m a Bitcoin guy. I usually couldn’t care less about most Solana memes.
But I keep seeing Bitcoin holders, Ordinals users and Bitcoin-native accounts talking about $BUTTCOIN.
And I understand why.
They already know the joke.
6/ There’s a huge difference between discovering another random meme and seeing something you remember from 10+ years ago suddenly come back as a token.
It hits differently.
$BUTTCOIN has something most new memes can’t buy:
History.
7/ Then I started looking at the chain, and I was surprised.
$BUTTCOIN has 20K+ holders.
The biggest individual wallet is only around 2.2%.
The top 10 individual holders are around 14–15%.
The LP/DEX wallets are separate, and the creator basically has nothing.
That’s a pretty damn healthy distribution.
8/ It’s also been around for roughly 7+ months.
This isn’t a coin that launched yesterday, pumped for a few hours and disappeared.
There’s real liquidity, real trading and a large holder base.
We’re also seeing some big wallets accumulate while others sell.
That’s what you want to see.
9/ But the part I keep coming back to is the potential audience:
Bitcoin OGs → Bitcoin meme culture → Ordinals → Runes → $BUTTCOIN → Solana
If $BUTTCOIN becomes the meme coin for Bitcoin people, the addressable audience is much bigger than just Solana traders.
10/ At around a $15M market cap, reaching $1B would be roughly a 65x.
Obviously, nothing is guaranteed. It’s a meme coin, and it can get absolutely wrecked.
But after looking at the history, wallets and activity on X, I think @buttcoin has something most memes don’t:
Roots.
Bitcoin created the culture.
$BUTTCOIN was there near the beginning.
Now that old meme has a token, and I think we’re still very early.
