Congress shouldn’t cede its power of the purse to billionaires, especially not unelected @elonmusk. @SenateApprops has an alternative CR ready to go that won’t cut $1.4 billion from the LHHS bill and $280 million from #cancer & other research @NIH like the House GOP bill does.
A clear alternative to the House GOP funding plan is to pass my short-term bill with @rosadelauro to prevent a shutdown & finish work on bipartisan funding bills that invest in workers, keep our country safe, & ensure our constituents have a say in how federal funding is spent.
