🇬🇩 🙌 El IICA inauguró una nueva oficina de su Representación en Granada.
🤝 El Ministro de Agricultura, Tierras y Silvicultura del país, Lennox Andrews, estuvo presente en el evento y destacó la importancia del apoyo que el IICA brinda en este país desde hace cuatro décadas.
👉 Actualmente existen tres iniciativas clave en las que el Ministerio colabora con el IICA. Una es el Proyecto de Gestión de los Recursos Hídricos y Mejora del Riego, que se ejecuta en alianza con la Global Water Partnership-Caribbean. Otra busca proporcionar financiamiento y apoyo logístico para la construcción de un establecimiento de secado y una planta de envasado de algas marinas (seamoss) en La Calome, St. David. La tercera apoya la creación de la Asociación de Apicultores de Granada.
👉 La inauguración también contó con la presencia del Secretario Permanente del Ministerio de Agricultura, Isaac Bhagwan, y otros funcionarios de esta cartera y del Ministerio de resiliencia Climática, medioambiente y Energías Renovables, así como de otras organizaciones socias.
👉Participó, además, el Representante del IICA en los Estados del Caribe Oriental (de los cuales forma parte Grenada), Gregg Rawlins; y el Director Ejecutivo de la Alianza para la Gestión Sostenible de la Tierra (PISLM), Ronen Francis.

800,000 USD in funding via grants 💸 and loans 🤝 is now within reach thanks to a landmark Memorandum of Understanding that was signed today between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Grenada Development Bank.
ALT 🌟 $800,000 USD in funding via grants 💸 and loans 🤝 is now within reach thanks to a landmark Memorandum of Understanding that was signed today between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Grenada Development Bank. The funding will be made available to the young people who successfully completed the training programmes in general agriculture 🥕, livestock 🐔, and agro-processing 🥭 and have successfully completed their business plans! This undertaking is a milestone for the Young Farmers, Fishers in Agriculture and Agro Processing implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, through funding by the CARICOM Development Fund and support from the National Training Agency, Grenada Development Bank and the Grenada Investment Development Corporation.
The Agronomy Department is conducting an important survey to understand your farming practices, challenges, and needs.
