Splendid news from the @FraMEPhys group - our Research Fellow @HikeMix will move to @UofGlasgow as a permanent lecturer in philosophy of science and technology when the project concludes next summer. We feel very lucky to have had him on the team!
I'm pleased to announce that next June I will be joining the University of Glasgow as a lecturer. It is bittersweet leaving Oxford, Birmingham, and @FraMEPhys. But I'm very excited about the work I'll be doing up north! youtu.be/h-LvqprQnsI

Finally, keynote speaker Jonathan Schaffer rounds off the 1st talk of the workshop with a talk on ground physicalism: the ultimate story of the world needs to specify both the purely physical grounds but also the heterogeneous grounding pples.

Now it’s @HikeMix ’s turn. He thinks agents feature in the 4th order explanation of causal facts (picture below), but this doesn’t make causation subjective. He also argues that this higher-order explanation is connected to ground laws and explanations.
