Don't be fooled by the hype. This is THREE THOUSAND PAGES of turgid, lugubrious prose of unpleasant, unattractive, clinically depressed rich people ineptly manipulating each another.
this bit of fielder's wired interview is really frying me
"you're saying I'm worse than the average person."

sitting down in the theater for You Can See Everything: oh, there’s a lot of people here who have good taste
fifteen minutes into the movie, everyone is laughing when nothing funny is happening. nobody in this theater has good taste
the devils is also abt this sort of girardian thing but it doesnt slot so cleanly in.
perhaps not so weirdly but YCSE made me really think abt the lacanian aphorism, "there is no sexual relationship", and how much this is exemplified btwn holmes and evans, both trapped in their self-referential worlds and yet... the love is real ?
thinking a lot about the irony of [someone] in the fielder documentary insisting, repeatedly, "well that's fiction, it's fine, it doesn't have to be truthful!"
when that is situated in the rest of this documentary which problematizes the bounds btwn fiction/truth-telling
