Treasury’s $95 Billion Buyback Plan Leaves Door Open to More Treasury plans to buy back up to $95 billion of debt over the next three months, versus the $63 billion ceiling initially announced in August. The wording also leaves room for more: Treasury says it is evaluating “possible enhancements,” including “changes to maximum purchase amounts” and operation frequency. That signals flexibility to expand the program—not a commitment to exceed $95 billion home.treasury.gov/news/press…

I still prefer Bitcoin over gold for the time being, and its relative price is holding up even as both assets have sold off.

Hardcore Bitcoiners can’t accept this truth.
Unfortunately the world doesn’t work like that. Structures will always be built around any money of significance and banks are one of them. So are products, credit, derivatives etc.

Cybertrunk really is an amazing vehicle but the target audience is so small.
Annual revenue generated (estimated) at current sales volume: • Model Y: $50 billion • Model 3: $20 billion • Cybertruck: $2.5 billion

News flow all coming at a specific time
BREAKING: Texas Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa calls for a “halt” on AI data center development until new laws are enacted, per CNN. “We need to stop what we are doing with data centers until we have those protections,” she said. Hinojosa will be Texas’ first Democratic governor since 1995.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Hinojosa clarified her proposed moratorium targets new data center permits/approvals and would not stop projects already permitted or under construction. bigcountryhomepage.com/big-country-po… ginafortexas.com/priority/data-… datacenterdynamics.com/en/news/texas-…

hearing some chatter that anthropic is now lowering down to $1tn to get this IPO done. let me explain why this doesnt matter and its actually all over- the entire existence of this company is based on a funding model that inherently has extreme asset liability mismatch. what that means is that just like the hyperscalers are diluting their equity fund capex, there is an expectation that anthropic will also have to do the same. ie it needs strong equity to perpetuate the scheme but if you IPO at the wrong price (and dont get a pop which increasingly appears they wont be; spacex already below) then youre now in the death spiral that crypto investors should be very familiar with: its called the reflexivity trap of the confidence game. its the "ill bid FTT at $22 all day" or the "steady lads UST is $1" game, with all its lucid horrors. and here is the key insight- the confidence game exists at the service of the creditors. if there is no credit, there is simply no equity. and there is no credit, if there is no collateral if the credit rating agencies are not going to give IG at $2tn, they are certaintly not going a better HY rating at $1tn. and there is no world in which anthropic can exist without credit because ~$1tn of commit, much of which is noncancellable, is a straight up negative equity pledge yet there were two scenarios in which i was willing to concede anthropic could IPO: first 1) the improbable but possible was if the hyperscalers/chips oligopoly came to rescue and plug the hole, given their incestuous nature of revenue bookings and paper gains/losses at scale. but it is clear now that the market has spoken this will lead to a mutual death, and should not be attempted. or perversely even better, they are actually better off letting anthropic go to zero so they can acquire the pieces on the cheap which is the best nash equilibrium outcome, not just for the dominant player but for society at large. second 2) the us government can nationalize the company and collude with other sovereigns (like UAE, Saudi, Japan who are basically already the checks) to force its funding as a collective bargain. this gives you trillions, which is actually the most effective backstop to restore market confidence. the first edge case does require an IPO, but the second edge case here for which i believe there is still a good chance that this is the ultimate end game- will require a failed IPO to recapitalize at a normalized price for the consortium (and dont forget that openai front ran this investor group in anticipation of this dynamic to play out as a private co last month) i believe the market is crapping out today because the market is recognizing it will not IPO. and actually, as ive said before, this is a very good thing. i might even imagine that the market could quickly rebound on the news of its IPO being delayed because it allows #2) to play out, as not only a national, but an international bailout. the US is more likely to tolerate, even relish, the taxes of foreginers to fund our domestic companies. that is the only end game that really matters, and the end game i am going to be excited to see we'll see if this newly revamped washington can figure it out

The sad truth…
Replying to @Globalflows
Please don’t praise Citrini. Their long/short AI port is being outperformed by 5x by MSTR spot shares (71% vs 350%) since June of 2023 of its inception. Please don’t discuss skill issue when research teams that spend millions can’t even outperform a business buying BTC and issuing credit.

If you’re trading in and out of this market…you’ll probably lose and end up selling too low or buying back too high. These moves are QUICK. I don’t think that’s the way to play this market. Have cash and buy dips and sit back and don’t use leverage.

Good. Bring more dead bodies to the surface. Wash out before the huge run up.
JUST IN: There are rumors swirling that Walleye Capital, a $20B hedge fund, has "blown up" in the recent tech sell-off.

I said this would happen again
JUST IN: Leopold Aschenbrenners Fund (Situational Awareness) has reportedly officially blown up… These are the current (now liquidated) holdings: - $MU bought at $1,153, now $703, (-39%) - $CORZ bought at $25.6, now $11.1, (-56%) - $SNDK bought at $2,268, now $874, (-61%) - $NBIS bought at $273, now $121, (-55%) - $CRWV bought at $99, now $42, (-57%) - $BE bought at $301, now $165, (-45%) Use him as a lesson why you NEVER over-leverage into high risk positions. That concludes an end of an era…

The market is a joke. If there were actually real problems in AI/economy, I guarantee you Krispy Kreme wouldn’t be thriving because of the lower K getting hit…
Nothing humbles you quite like watching $DNUT rip 40% while every AI name you own is bleeding.

There is so much bear posting for people who have no idea what’s going on.

Introducing GPT‑6 Cyber: a major advance in security research that pairs stronger capabilities with better model alignment. The model powered the Linux kernel research we announced yesterday, and security teams at companies like Mozilla, Palo Alto Networks, Calif, and Cisco—alongside our own at OpenAI—are already putting it to work. GPT-6 Cyber is available to select Daybreak Red customers and we are expanding access over time. openai.com/index/introducing…
