This!! I'm a cis-passing trans man. Been on 10 for over 10 years. If I go into AMAB spaces, my top surgery scars act either as a repellent or a target for danger. But wanting to be in AFAB spaces is "bad", "looks bad for the community" or makes people think I regret transitioning

"trans men want to be women" or whatever is so interesting. i feel like a lot of trans men don't want to fully pass or be perceived as male because people seen as "cis men" are not welcome in queer spaces. fully passing as a trans man will ostracize you from your community

There is a deep seated hatred for masculinity and maleness in queer spaces (especially fandom) that aren't strictly gay male spaces and usually they really only accept cis gays. There isn't much of a community for trans men

similar imo to most trans men who identify as lesbians. many identified as lesbians before they came out and likely heard "all men bad" rhetoric for years and internalized the notion that male attraction to women is bad and inherently predatory
